Maybe after the RTDA show in August, which is when they will officialy be released, they'll show up here. I've got a sample of the Salsa on it's way and from what Robert from Buc. told me they are some strong sumsabeeches. I know his favorite is the Peg Leg and he said that after about 4 hits on the Salsa he had to lay it down! Now I'm scared, LOL.

Talked to my Buc dealer last night. He said that the company asked him if he wanted a few boxes of the new smokes before they are officially released at the show. He turned them down because he wants to be able to sell the ones that he has on hand first. Figures that the Buc smokers will abondon the older line when the Zand Salsa hit the stores.

That's too bad ... because the new lines have a completely different flavor profile than the rest ... and will appeal to different tastes.

Even though the 'Z' is a killer smoke ... I still gravitate towards my favorite, the 'el Capitan Reserva Maduro' ...

I haven't tried the 'Salsa' or 'Crew' yet ... but will in a couple of days ... ;^)

Robby --- I'll let you know, when I find out ...

... I've asked them if they have ordered, or are going to order, but haven't heard back from them yet.

Robby --- I just got the word.

They will more than likely carry some of, if not all of the new lines. Although they have not ordered any yet, they will probably be getting some in the near future.

Keep an eye out, I’m sure you’ll see them ...

Robby ... not all three?

I know the 'Crew' is going to be what's considered a 'lower-end' line (as far as the price point goes), and mild ... but who knows ... at least it will be affordable to those who complain about the high cost of the Bucanero's ... and if it's a Bucanero, it's got to be a decent cigar.

... I'm going to at least give it a shot ... ;^)

I'm doing the pp dance over here. I just got samples of everything. The name "Salsa" is very fitting. I opened the box and I thought I'd been sent a box of Picante Sauce. LOL

It is done.

I smoked my first Salsa and lived to tell the tale.

Bucanero has climbed to the top of the totem pole with this line. Forget all about the Full Sail, Joya de Nic '70's, PAM's, 3000-5000 maddie, CAO Extreme, GOL's or the Oliva maddie because this is THE Mack Daddy.

Like all cigars the first time I smoke them, the first few puffs I'm trying to guess the flavors. This just prison rapes the senses. You're left with a "What the hell just hit me", and then WHAMMO! you take another puff. I wasn't too keen on the name, but guys this is the ONLY name for this powerhouse. I used to snicker at the tales of being buzzed by a cigar, well...this one did it to me! My son walked outside and hung around while I was smoking it, this coming from someone that usually runs into the next county when he sees me lighting up. I thought that it was odd, and said something to him, and he said that he wanted to hang around because it smelled like I was smoking peppers or Doritos. Guys, it doesn't smell like THAT, that was coming from an 11 year old. Sometimes it sure tasted like that though. I smoked this with no adult libation or water. Now I'm not looking for any medals, but do yourselves a favor and have something to drink when you smoke these!

Bucanero you hit the ball outta the park when it comes to "full bodied", I kinda know what Kurt Cobain felt like only I'm living proof that having a convertible head isn't a bad thing.

I'll be buying these. Sissies need not bother, check your skirt at the door. This is Mr. Manly signing off...

I just finished smoking one of the 'Crew', just monents ago ... and I have an entirely different story to tell on this line.

I'm not sure of the size, but it looks to me like a 'fat toro' ... more on the robusto ring size, but longer. Maybe even a gran corona size. I loved the color of the band, a rich blue with baby-blue lettering. It has the familiar sailing ship, with white clouds above, and green water below ...

The construction was impeccable, smooth, with very few veins, and a very solid construction ... not the rustic look of the Full Sail, or el Capitan Reserva, that I've been accustomed to seeing. At first I thought that it was going to be one of those smokes that woould implode the back of my head. The draw was firm, but freely produced plenty of tasty smoke.

As I expected ... this cigar was mild-bodied, but it picked up to more medium-bodied when I got about half way through. It was very smooth ... but every once and awhile, it had a slight bite to it. I was trying to compare it to a cigar that I've had before ... and the closest I could come to ... was that it reminded me of something similar to the La Aurora, with a very pleasant aroma and hints of pepper and cedar in the smoke.

I usually like cigars that pack more punch than this cigar ... but found it very enjoyable, none the less. This would be a great cigar to fire up first thing in the morning, with a good cup of joe, or one to have when you are in the mood for something that's not going 'knock you socks off', when you are not in that sort of mood.

I would give this cigar an overall 7 ... only because I am partial to a more full-bodied cigar. Those who like milder cigars, with a very pleasant flavor profile ... will rate it higher, I'm sure ... and with a MSRP of around $3.60 each, I think Bucanero finally hit on a winner, for those looking for a solid cigar in the lower price range.

I've been given a mission to compare the new reblended release of The Texas Star to the original. I had the new one earlier and it made me think of the El Capitan Maduro in a natural version. The flavor was similar to the El Capitan but milder in the start and builds towards the end. I should smoke the original now, much darker wrapper, but I want to smoke a Z of a Salsa!

Barry --- an 'El Capitan Maduro' in a natural version?

Wouldn't that be the 'el Capitan Reserva Natural' that was introduced in 2000 ... or was it more like a milder Maduro?

Slim, it had the punch of the El Capitan Maduro but much milder or should I say less spice in the flavor, somewhat like a very well aged cigar from a strong profile.

I doing the Salsa!

Funny, the Texas Star I smoked last year was kickin all the way through. I had to sit down to finish it.
Just finished a Crew beli. Definately milder bodied but with a great smootheness and a peppery finish.
I'm giving the others some down time, not much though.

Thanks again DrMaddVibe!

I was topping a few for Docrks...wanted to make it easier for him. Seems some of you put him adrift on the dingy. Wanted to make sure he knew "X" marks the spot.

Aye, strong yes but I like them too!

Under the Expert tutelage of Dr. Mad Vibe - my 1st Bucanero "Z" has now given its all and has transcended into the ether (sounds better than "gone up in smoke") . Thanks for all the help from DMV and thanks for the Trade Bro. Lowman..

This is a tremendous smoke - had some of the properties of the Padrons I love - but the construction wasn't that granite hard press of the PAM Serie 1964. Draw was effortless and creamy -- the taste lingered after the cigar was finished -certainly not the same "twang" of an excellent Habana or the longer staying power of the PAM 1926 --- but this is an excellent cigar in its own right -- it's not trying to be a copy of any of the others I mentioned. And it certainly has much more flavor and character then the vast majority of Domestics I have smoked recently...
What a way to get introduced into the Bucanero product line --- This cigar ROCKS !!!

Smoked the Z last night. Very Good !! Not as strong as the Salsa, but still full bodied with a lot of flavor. Burned great right to the nub. Never turned harsh or hot...

Low

These 2 additions to the Buc line are both winners !!

Got my hands on a few Zs and Salsas thank to my good friend *yanked*.

Tried the Z tonight and while it was not as full bodied as the Full Sail, it was a pleasure to smoke. Great construction, good but not a loose draw, a great deal of smoke and an excellent flavor profile. Especially loved the shape, a slight box press. Never harsh or hot and the flavor stayed almost the same all the way to the nub.

It's not going to replace the full sail as my favorite, but it's definitely another winner from Bucanero.

I look forward to trying the Salsa tomorrow. Maybe during tailgating festivities at the Yankee game.
