Many of you may be under the impression that, or had drummed into you that, English is the official language of the U.S., but you'd be sorely mistaken. If so, there'd be no need for this organization:

For those who think we fought Hitler to protect our borders, I'll say two things:
1. This is a novel interpretation of history. You may be the first to argue it. But I'll stick with the standard stories rather than those invented on a cigar bbs.
2. To claim this about our part in WWII in Europe actually overlooks our much nobler motivations. You debase the heroism and leadership of our predecessors by reducing that war and its losses to something as pat and self-interested as protecting our borders. That was a shining moment of American history, one that this peculiar theory debases and disrespects.
To Mag, who made the only respectful query: I agree with you. Not learning English is a poor decision, if one wants to enter the workplace beyond ethnic neighborhoods. But not everyone chooses that, and that's their right. If you want to speak only Russian, Croatian, Chinese, Spanish, French, etc., hey, this is a country that, because of its inalienable freedoms, will not interfere with your choice.
John, not bitter at all. Just concerned with mass misinformation.
