when the league of women voters provides the forum for the presidential debates, if we get one, it will be a surprise to me.

bush's team will demand all of the questions in advance. he will be secretly wired and receive all the answers from a hidden source (i wish i could remember the movie that i saw that had that scenerio) because he won't be able to bring his written crib sheet on stage, he would look too stupid doing that.

he will not allow the democratic candidate to ask him any questions.

he will smile and be charming, at least as charming as a lounge lizard trying to get laid.

hopefully larry flint will get someone to want the million he offered for some specific, proveable dirt on w. for some unknown reason w's awol status was never accepted by the voters dispite his dui or dui's and his admitted coke use, think w is some incarnation of the good fairy,

someone will point out that the unemployment figures do not include the people who have given up trying to get a job. unemployment is close to 10 %. if you doubt me, get off your high horse and do some research.

if w get's re-appointed, we will start another war someplace that has big oil reserves.

the stock market will fall or maybe crash.

the dollar will fall lower

gold prices will rise higher

at some point, ashcroft will advise bush to declare martial law.

Rick, aside from all the other nonsense, would you be so kind as to point me to the source of the comment that W. admitted coke use? I seem to recall he DID admit a prior drinking problem, which he cited as his reason for giving it up years ago, but I seem to recall some unfounded allegations which he refused to dignify with a reply. Funny how a million dollars couln't produce a SINGLE person who could substatiate these claims. But I'm waiting to hear when he came out and admitted it....... by the way, if he did, does HE get the million?

"he refused to dignify with a reply" he also refused to dignify his hidden dui with the same arrogance.
i will have to research way back, but i believe your quote will probably beat my two small pair.

i can't explain why no one came forward to claim the mil.

so you have 2 points so far.

however you did dismiss all my other predictions with an "other nonsense".

isn't it a bit early to dismiss predictions that will take many months to either develope or be shown to be wrong?

Even if GW wins again, I'm hoping you are way off Rick. Your predictions are just too grim to contemplate! Entirely possible! But very grim. I'm hoping the forces of Mordor can be defeated!

Rick, you were getting quite dire in some of your predictions. Martial law? I also predict the dollar will fall lower, and rise higher. Ditto for the price of gold which is is so volitile that only an idiot would invest heavily in it. (My money would be going into the stock market right now, if I had any to invest, after all, you are supposed top buy low) And the comment about Bush being appointed? PLEASE! when they recounted, they only found more votes for W. the dems were just upset that the efforts to buy votes from homeless people in Mi. with cigarettes and the efforts to take mentally impaired people here in Va. and hand them already filled out ballots to sign were unsuccessful. So give the poor old chad a rest already, because the country is aware that if someone cant follow simple instructions on a ballot they don't need to be choosing the leader of the most powerful nation on earth.

You are one of the most negative people on this forum, and God only hopes none of your drival comes to pass under any Administration!

A literacy test is not necessary, after all, the busload of mentally challenged individuals who got taken to vote and were given pre-filled out balloyts in Va. didn't read them either. But if you can't read or don't read the instructions, ask for an explanation, and barring that don't whine about the fact YOU screwed up! Much less try to call into question the results of an election with the best voter turnout in anybodies memory! But then, that the way of the liberal, when unable to prove, obfuscate!

the only thing i am negative about is your semi-president and his band of merry thieves.

i have already discussed my lack of interest in a god.
try to remember these things and our trade a few years ago.

i positivly do not smoke bad frogs or lone wolves any more. my cigars of choice are the bohemian revolution, the onyx mini belicoso, DR cohiba esplendido's @ $2.00 each, and monte #5's from ISOM, when i can get them, also @ $2.00 each.

i have saved some super quality cigers gifted to me and/or traded by usahog and magnifide. i savor those for special occassions and think about how i am on the opposite side of them politically and yet we maintain a respect and liking for each other.

obfuscate. who me? equivocate, yes. mislead, no.

did you read my post awile back that mentioned as a registered deomocrat, living in the same house and being registered as a democrat for 30 years, somehow my name was not on the registration and i was not allowed to vote in the last presidential election.

toby, registered as a republican, was still on the voter registration. can it be true? bet your tail.

gore, who i would not have voted for in the last election, did not lose the election in va, but in florida, where if you recall, the supreme court ovturned florida's supreme court in violation of the states rights clause, and a whole bunch of other dirty tricks, like a lot of republicans, nixon and watergate, reagen and the october surprise. i give you the url if you have any interest.

none the less, i am glad to see you and so many others posting after the new years. i don't know if we set another record for highway deaths, but i suspect all botl are more careful about their driving then those others who do not understand and appreciate a good cigar.

On relief to see all the BOTLs posting after the holiday, we can agree my Brother! I'm glad you too made it through another holiday season. I did suffer some damage to my ragtop, but thank God it was just from some kid trying to back his parents Lincoln Navigator into a parking space, and he (his mother) had insurance. I look forward to a year of spirited debate with someone who, although terribly misinformed :), is capable of an intelligent and articulate argument! Let the games begin!

Rick-
obfuscate-1-To make so confused or opaque as to be difficult to perceive or understand: “A great effort was made... to obscure or obfuscate the truth” (Robert Conquest).
2-To render indistinct or dim; darken: The fog obfuscated the shore.
I never meant to imply that I thought you were lying :) I respect you too much for that, you are too much fun to discuss poltics with . Discussing with someone who tends to support thier arguments with untrue claims is pointless. I question some of the sources you use for supporting arguments, but not you. MrOptimistic on the other hand is beginning to sound like someone we all know and love.....

my friend and worthy opponent, i never thought for one moment you were accussing me of lying. those of us that do not not know the meaning of some words, use the copy and paste to the dictionary technique, so as to appear smarter then we are.

as far as some of my sources, i find them here and there and use them when i believe they will either prove my point or raise the blood presure of some right wing folks, whose BP is easily raised.

for example:

george w bush will long be remembered as the grinch who stole america by folks with IQ's in triple digits and the second coming of reagan by those with IQ's low enough to fail the mcdonald, can you tell from this picture whether you are ringing in a big mac or fries.

Rick, I confess, I had to go look up the word to ensure I hadn't misspoken before I responded :) My BP is fairly stable, thank you LOL As to another of your predictions, Iran is a likely candidate, but if W. thinks (as I do) that N. Korea is a more urgent threat, the NK's have no oil reserves. If He decides to work on one part of the world at a time, there are alot of Al Quada and Taliban honchos that are believed to have fled to Iran. Considering that we have them almost surrounded to the east, west, and have miles of coastline we could invade, you'ld think they would be more circumspect. In an overview of the whole situation, Putin, the President of Russia said in the aftermath of 9-11 that Russia had no knowledge of the attack and believed that it warranted the MOST VIGOUS RESPONSE (emphasis mine) This from the leader of a country which has been known on several occaisions to shoot down airliners for simply straying over thier airspace. Many world leaders seem to have figured that since we didn't immediately nuke somebody over the attack, we should just forget about it. Iraq had a military camp south of Baghdad where there was a derilict airliner fusalage that was purportedly used for training personnel in aircraft takeover techniques. It may have been used for anti-terrorism training, but former Iraqi military personnel have been quoted as saying that the people being trained there were not Iraqi, and were kept separate from the regular military personnel. And yet we quibble over the fact we can't find a picture of Saddam signing any formal agreement with Bin Laden. We carp because we haven't found warheads laden with nerve gas, even though there have been countless reports of "precursors" of nerve gas found, but the same ingredients can also be used to make insecticide. I think the Bush administration has shown amazing restraint in dealing with many of the counties that have been known to harbor terrorists. I think the fight will go on for years (gee, that's what W. told us before the end of 2001!) Predicting that we will go to war with someone who has massive oil reserves is almost a no-brainer, but there IS that NK option. Why make it sound like the oil is the reason?

it's a shame you don't live around the corner. you could stop over the house, pick a cigar and we could watch the hummers.

as far as "precursors" of nerve gas", when i was a kid i got a chemistry set as a christmas present. my family did not celebrate birthdays, because they were poor. would that set be a "precursors" of nerve gas?"

"I think the Bush administration has shown amazing restraint"

i can't help day dreaming about how much restraint they could have shown, had they not been in office.

Actually Rick, that sounds like it would be alot of fun!
Two or three chemicals when mixed in one set of proportions make insecticide, and in another set of proportions makes nerve gas. Check it out! The flea collar you put on your dog has the same ingredients as nerve gas. Whatever your intentions for the "precursors" it's much safer to keep them separate until ready for use. So why do we always seem to give the benefit of the doubt to Saddam, and not to Bush? In the immortal words of Dennis Miller-" In a comparison between Saddam Hussain, and George Bush, Bush is the good guy!"
My comment about restraint was in the context that I beleive many world leaders thought we would go stark, staring mad in the aftermath of 9-11, but we have shown ourselve to be relentless, but try to build a case for our actions. If some wont accept our case, oh well, we didn't ask for permission to defend ourselves.

Maybe we'll get to have a cigar and a few cold ones together sometime, I kinda doubt it, as we are on opposite ends of the country. Funny how if you look at a map, I'm on the far right, and you are on the far left. LMAO! Have a good one!
