What America needs is a good five cent cigar.... or a decent $5 billion dollar war! It's kind of expensive to go overseas and stamp out threats before they come flying into any more of our skyscrapers, but speaking as a REALISTIC conservative (don't go there Rick! LOL) I realize that there IS a price to be paid, and not just in the blood of patriots, but in the funds to send them over there, and keep them in ammunition and supplies. I suppose we could send the Marines into Iraq and give them each five bullets (these are all you get so don't shoot them all in one firefight!) But the cost in blood would skyrocket, and the objective would be placed in jepardy. We need to accept the fact we are at WAR! It's like we talk about the war on terrorism, but it's something detached from the public as a whole. I remember reading that the tin drives that gathered up pots and pans during WWII were of no actual value at all, as the pot metal collected was of no military use, but they continued them anyway, because it made the people feel personally involved and invested in the conflict. Maybe that's what we have to do again or something similar, to get the people to realize, and remember that W. said this was going to be a long haul situation, and would probably be going on until our kids might see the end of it. If the people want to gripe about unemployment, bring back the draft, that'll put alot of young men and women who would otherwise be trying to find jobs to work! And they could use thier new jobs to pay taxes to help defray the cost!

It took four years to baby Germany back onto its feet.

Saddam had an entire year to hide everything.

The connection between Saddam and al-Qaida has been proven.

Since the end of the war, more GI's have died from car accidents in the streets of America than have died from terrorist attacks in Iraq.

I think they should replay that French documentary on FDNY at least once a month--including the footage of the people jumping and falling and hitting the ground from the 70th floor of the WTC--so the whining do-gooders don't forget why we're doing this.

w. (small w) "said this was going to be a long haul situation"

i start with a different premise. little w is a liar.

he lies about anything and everything just like his father. and grandfather who had some financial dealing with the nazis during the second world war. (did you know that?)

this a family that believes they are above the people, the law, and that god is their buddy.

i believe he did the photo opp thing with the "war is over and we won" BS and had that carrier out there an extra day or so he could be the well dressed hero with the mysterious sign in the background that the administration had printed and hung to add to the photo opp.

this is a dangerous man, surrounded by dangerous people. i hope the country can survive him. then there is jeb and neil and perhaps the twins.

my grandfather came to this country to escape the czar, but a new czar has appeared and many of you guys don't know it.

Well Rick, we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I joined the military in '92, and the first eight years of my career were spent watching military people have thier carrers ended because they had the bad judgement to have sex with subordinate personnel. Then my Commander in Chief did the same thing and said it was just between consenting adults and was no big deal (as pertained to him). I remember a list of conservative secret clearance holders that was found shortly after he was elected, and Billary said that it was just a routine bit of paperwork that got separated from the rest. Remember the Nixon "Enemies List"? YEAH SURE RIGHT! Hillary (oh yeah, she's in the Senate now!) was as deep into insider trading as Martha Stewart EVER was, ans why is Martha the only one on trial? PLEASE don't preach to me about Bush thinking HE's above the law! I see more liberal democrats pulling more felonies that a whole herd of republicans could EVER get away with! Why? because the democrats would be pointing fingers and screaming foul at the drop of a hat! So let's try to stop the pot calling the kettle black business.

Great shot! Could not agree with you more and it seems the Liberals are short on memory when it comes to their own misgivings! But maybe it is an accepted principal in their circles (lying, cheating, stealing and cover ups)!

Did you read Ricks other post? some liberal organization named MoveOn.org is trying to disclaim a 30 second spot they had on thier website comparing Bush to Adolf Hitler! Oh we didn't MEAN it, we think it's in bad taste too! We took it off! Geeeez! Let me get the snailer of the guy running that site and put it on national TV for a day, and then say that after I get it off and see how understanding HE would be!

I like Rick and feel he is a fun person to spar with, but he is a little overboard when it comes to GWB!

i use some cast iron skillets, so calling the pot black is perfectly all right.

martha stewart should be indicted right after ken lay. remember him, the man who broke the bank at enron and screwed all the employees, why is he running free?

i believe ken star after spending a zillion dollars could not come up with anything about hillary's stock deal thathe could indict her for, and if he found anything, it would have been his pleasure to press charges.

I don't know, after the open and shut case Congress had for perjury against Bill, who's to say he wasn't told NOT to find anything.
