i never gave it much thought, but maybe your kids leaving home is like a second birth. i can see how it would dredge up all kinds of emotions, thinking about how this young adult -- your "baby" -- will survive in that big, bad world and all.
well, a couple of thoughts for you -- first, i'm sure you and the hubs have given her a solid upbringing to prepare her for all that's out there. secondly, though there is a lot of skeeeeeery stuff out there, there are also folks out there as kind, generous, loving, protective, chivalrous, etc. as the people here on cbid.
it's difficult, but i bet that you and she take your mom/daughter relationship to a whole new (and great) level. i'll keep you guys in my prayers, and may she encounter the best humanity offers.
