Hey there, Eggie-poo!
Come on out! The water's fine!
Ok, so they tell me it's expensive water, but what do I know!? I'm a native!
We bought our current home in '97 for $230K...today it's about $700-750K...who needs the stock market anyway!?
We have 5 homes in the past 7 years. Buy one, refi in 12 to 18 months, use that equity to get you into the next and so on...we've never looked for property during a "buyer's market" only. When we are able to pull some money out, we go for it. So far, so good.
Uh, I don't know what to tell you other than my experience here. I've travelled all across our country several times by car. I've seen all but 7 states and I love every part of this BEAUTIFUL country with the exception of our deserts. Vegas is an exception to the rule...but I absolutely LOVE Southern California!
The downsides as I see it:
-Traffic congestion - CONSTANTLY!
-We tend to get gouge on fuel prices compared to the
rest of the country.
-Taxes...
Everything else seems to be the same just about everywhere else we've gone. You have rude people and you have exceptionally nice people...anywhere.
I have a family friend who is a Realtor. Her name is Connie and we've bought 3 homes through her and I can highly recommend speaking to her.
