Hey Illinois just raised their state income tax to 7%. I don't hear any outcry about that.

Add the Fed. Income tax, Social Sec. Medicare and state income tax and a person making 75K+ a year in Illinois now gives up close to 40% of their income in taxes.

How would you like to make 75K a year and take home less than 35K after you contribute to your own 401K and buy your own health insurance.

BS alert.

You need help with your taxes if you are paying 40%.

Vote Libertarian.

You will..............eventually.
It is just a question of how much pain you are willing to accept at the hands of the status quo incumbent Demicans and Republicrats first.

Freedom............whatta radical concept.

Just had another thought

Are you still allowed to receive cigars in trade ?

Will I get in trouble sending cigars to Maryland ?

If I can send you cigars but c-bid is banned ...

it all but proves it is only about the money !!!

Also ... if these laws spread ... the government

once again not giving a sh1t about the

employees ( of the internet cigar sites )

lol, I live in the highest taxed state in the country. Not including unemployment, the government spends around 300 billion or so on welfare programs and almost 900 billion on military expenditures. I am more upset with the latter.

Youre insane.
Tax dollars spent on military spending re-circulate through the economy and each time they are, a tax is paid

Welfare expenditures are once through and done, especially if they are vouchers or wic cards

Here is how it will eventually all shake out: One or more states will sue CI/CBid to force it to collect and remit sales tax to each state. It already happened with Internet travel sites here in Florida to recoup the hotel tax that wasn't being paid. This will turn out no differently.

Have you ever been there?

They take the "art" of street begging to levels that make me want to puke!

Been to that island several times on cruises and resort weeks. The last time I stayed on the damn ship and when I was at the resort I NEVER left it!

That island is a pox on what is the beauty of the Caribbean. Wanna go to a nice one? Antigua...St. Maarten...St.Barts...Van ******...St. Vincent...Martinique...but see, you're not escaping anything. The cost of goods is higher. The landscape is nice don't get me wrong, but look what a gallon of milk costs or the taxes on a house or villa and get back to me.

If you really want to run...Panama, Costa Rica, Belize..even Argentina would be better destinations for cheaper living with a modicum of the life you're used to living now.

Just saying'.

Have only been there on a cruise. I could see the begging from the balcony! I was just venting. They DO have Piton beer though! can't get it in the states.

I would rather stay in the states, if i ever move. It just sucks to see the politicians ruining one of the best places on earth! My opinion of course. within a short drive you can be at the ocean, mountains, farmlands and the Chesapeake Bay! Some of the very best bass fishing on the planet!

You know, this country was built on tobacco from right here in good ole MD! Now the farmers here are given incentives to NOT grow tobacco!

It just sucks!

St. Maarten here I come! Now we're talkin.......

Cigar Bid should start collecting Maryland taxes for purchases made by Maryland consumers. Cigar Bid would keep Maryland customers and the state would get the revenue that is the main objective in passing this law. This should make Maryland happy because they don't really care about the local cigar shops as much as they want the taxes. I just want to be able to buy a wide variety of smokes and the Cigar Bid deals would still be good even if taxes were added. Luckily my humidor is loaded with a year's supply of quality smokes so maybe this bit of bad news will be corrected before I run out.

Maryland resident here. I just read about this BS on cigaraficionado.com.

So how's this gonna work? Will CI/Cbid not ship to MD anymore or will shipping companies be required to confiscated or refuse to deliver orders?

There's plenty of stuff I order over the internet for two reasons. I can get a pretty good discount and I don't pay taxes on some items not all. Its also convenient. Is Maryland eventually going to ban all purchases over the internet? No. This is simply another BS move on cigars and tobacco...complete BS!
