Does it make a difference in the flavor, once seasoned?
From what I understand about "stalk cut", and I may be wrong, is that the leaves are harvested with the stalk. The leaves are hung to cure, still attached to the stalk. Nutrients and sugars from the stalk work thier way back into the leaves during the curing process, giving a unique, almost tropical flavor. Don't know if this is correct, but I was told this by a well respected FOG. All I know is that I pick up unique flavors in stalk cut sticks, that I don't get in others.
Back to Genesis, The Project. I smoked mine tonight at Dantes. Got to say I really, really enjoyed this smoke. I followed it up with an Undercrown Toro, and after the Genesis, the Undercrown was a slight disapointment.
My guess on this one is that these will be very popular, and probably go close to, if not over regular retail when they finally show up here. I may take advantage of the "pre order" price and do a very rare full asking price purchase at CI. Yes, I liked it that much.
