My first vote went for Tricky ****** in '72 but the alternative was McGovern. All my felllow long haired, bearded buddies went the McGovern commie route.
I'm with you, Ron. He wasn't perfect but I never regretted voting for the Gipper. In fact, I was sorry to see him go. Would have voted for him again and again too even though I think he was suffering from the beginnings of alzheimer's.
I voted for Bush senior too but he was a political horse of a more calculated manner. Less principled than Reagan, more of a compromising wheeler dealer. Made a deal with Democrats to raise revenues & then they left him holding the bag at election time. That's what got him in trouble with the voter. I also didn't care for his one world agenda using our money and soldiers but that's another story. Maybe he just wanted to get out of the house more & away from Barbara & son, Alfie E. Newman.
