Just under 300 SSA "fraud investigation" agents carry guns. That's less then 600 rounds per agent, for field use, practice and qualification. Not out of line in the least bit.

Read a newspaper article indicating the same. My question is: Whether this is actually enough ammo for those in this area of law enforcement?

The Department of Education has armed officers too. I have a friend that has been on raids with them.

College financial aid fraud mostly, as I understand it. She tells me there is an entire cottage industry built up around it.

That would be an understatement. One aspect of the fraud is small technical schools that promise the world, attract students, have the student apply for loans and aid that is directed to the school- and then the school closes down or simply hoses the student in any number of ways. The students get stuck with the loans without the education. It is a big racket, some of which has existed here in Orlando/Central Florida...

The old get old
And the young get stronger
May take a week
And it may take longer
They got the guns
But we got the numbers
Gonna win, yeah
We're takin' over
Come on!

Yeah!

The police force of today, looks like the soldier of the future. Armed to the teeth. The same officer 10 years ago looked like Andy Griffith by comparison.

Sometimes a bullet sounds like a better alternative when the government comes through your door. Anxious

Don't worry about it. All those tens of thousands of bullets are for the others...you know, all those bad people out there. We're perfectly safe.
