and, KL will absorb all the nice cigar odors!
and, you have to use twice as much KL!!
and.....and........KL is NOT for cigars!
Preach it Brother… preach it! Hallelujah! I'm currently running a 50qt cooledor for aging, a Treasure Dome for CC's, and a 100ct for domestics. Nothing major, but all on beads!
skillett - If you're buying cigars from a B&M that uses kitty litter in their humi, I'd suggest you find another B&M!
No reputable B&M that I know of uses or recommends using kitty litter to store/age cigars. Nor would I buy from a B&M that used kitty litter in it's humi. So why do you you believe it's OK to store your cigars at home with KL??? Why would someone want to buy/trade with someone that uses KL in their humi when they wouldn't buy from a B&M that had KL in it's humi?
Kitty Litter Sucks… literally. Look at the description on the package! It's made to absorb moisture (wet - not humidity - there's a difference) and it absorb odors. Would you want your kitty litter to release the moisture and odors it absorbs after your cat deficates on it? Would you want to breathe that in the air?? NO! So why would you put KL in your humi to store your cigars?
Freakin cheapskate noobs! Wise up!
Not all silica is engineered the same. If it was, you would have no problem putting desicant silica in your humi too!
I find in incomprehensible that folks will go to great lengths and expense to find the cigars they love, only to cheap-out on how they store them with KL. Phfffft!
