on another post someone mentioned heston and i didn't want to change the subject of the post and be accused of threadjacking even though the word has a certain ring to it.
having been in my business for 35 years, a lot of my clients have developed the disease.
fortunately for the one who has it, it doesn't bother them much. they are in another world and are comfortable with it. they will say something like "i can't remember what i was doing or where i was going" or something to that effect. in a minute they have forgotten the incident and are off doing something else.
unfortunately the spous or cartaker has most of the problems keeping the patient protected from himself. one of my old friends will leave the house and walk to the mall. his wife didn't hear the door bell ring that is hung to let her know he is leaving. he usually ands up at a mall where security knows him and they call the wife and then drive him home. he wasn't the least concerned, but the wife was scared out of her wits.
bless the spouse or caretaker that will continue with the task instead of shipping the person off to a home.
