On July 30, 2008, the United States House of Representatives passed a resolution apologizing for American slavery and subsequent discriminatory laws.
Still wasn't enough, and solved nothing. At least until the Confederate flag and Civil War Monuments came under fire. Guess that will finally resolve it.

Does this mean there will be reparations for my Polish & Italian descendants and the discrimination they endured after stepping off the boat? How much do the Poles get for every bad Polish joke? How much do the Italians get for stereotyping every dago and goomba to be involved with the mob? Not to forget the Irish! Reparations for everyone! Time for citizens to get a bail-out.

But they keep saying unemployment is down??? Wouldn't 62.6% labor force participation also equate to 37.4% who don't work?
Guess they don't count those that gave-up trying to find a job, or have settled for part-time cause that's all they could get.

Labor force participation includes retirees. Do you think there could possibly be a reason why the percentage of people in the US Labor Force who are working could be decreasing year by year after? Funny... there was this "baby boom" that seemed to happen. Seems to me that the front end of that boom is about 70 years old now. That would mean about the past 5 years we've had a drastically increasing number of retirees hitting 65. That's going to continue for about 15 years more.

If you want to blame obama for the labor force participation rate, you're going to have to do better than that. Actually use your head and find a way to tease out the retiree population or simply admit you don't understand how the numbers you're touting work.

Supporting them means giving them a livable wage, not supplementing it with food stamps.

And for the record, I did 20 years in the Navy... got married when I was 19 and my wife had a child. I was never on food stamps, and I lived in a 2 bedroom apartment in San Diego. Money was tight, so we did 2 things... we lived within our means and we didn't have children we couldn't afford.

Drastic, I know....
