I considered buying one of the sampler deals to get some yard-gars and then selling the "free" humi online, but apparently I was not the first to think of that - there are a TON of the exact same humis that are included in the CI samplers on ebay and it looks like they get 0 bids. The market is flooded! You might have better luck, but the sheer number of them out there kept me away from trying it,
I have one of those "free" humis at my office and also gave one away as a gift. They are not bad for what I used them for. Don't have any Cubans or Opus X's in mine, but two 69% Bovidas keeps my office sticks at about 67% with me rotating a new bovida in every now and then pulling out one getting a bit dry and recharging it in a ziplock, so I always have a fresh one ready. In my MUCH nicer humidor at home, it just takes one 69% Bovida to keep me at 65% and I almost never seem to have to change that one, always nice and squishy (except for the infamous tequila shot night, when I left the lid open - doh!!!). So you clearly get what you pay for on the humidors. Despite that, the glass-top one especially looks very nice and makes a pretty good gift or a good backup/office/overflow humi to have on hand so even if you try to sell the freebie on ebay and there are no takers, I still think its a good deal.
Oh the other hand, that Room 101 knuckle cutter went for a good price - with several bidders - no problem. The ashtray didn't bring a lot but still made money on it. So if you see a deal with the free cutter again, that looks to be a money maker.
Of course you have to not mind spending the time listing it, taking pictures then doing the shipping, etc., but I have a ringer on that! My wife makes and sells these grocery bag holder things on ebay to the tune of selling 50-60 of them a month, so I got a helper :)
If you do try to sell something, let it list for a week and make sure the "ending" time is the middle of the afternoon on Sunday, that gets you your best bidding action it seems
