We get it.
But this whole issue with Trump and the Gold Star families?
The media is chasing down members of the GOP to get comments, and of course none of them are positive.
But where was this push from the media when Hillary did the same thing to the gold star mom of a soldier who died in Benghazi?
Compare the two:
A. Trump is an idiot who said stupid things.
B. Hillary is a greasy dirtbag who said stupid things.
But Hillary's comments are WORSE than Trumps. Trump didn't LIE to the parents. Trump wasn't involved in their son's death. Trump isn't calling the parents liars.
Both are despicable. I get that.
But bring it to a personal level:
If my kid died in service and somebody said the things Trump said, I'd be furious.
But if somebody else was a reason he died? And then lied to me? And then called me a liar when I call them out?
Perspective.
Neither side has any. But the left wear their ignorance like a badge of honor.
I would be too, however there is one big difference and god forbid any such event in your family, I doubt you would use your family tragedy to promote a politician of any ilk, much less base that promotion on a distortion of the what was said. A proposed moratorium on muslim immigrants, what Trump proposed as did Jimmy Carter implement(?) versus outright banning muslims and deporting them all.
Election hyperbole, SOP, unlike the past, Trump feeding it back 100x, the democrats are just not used to taking their own medicine. Republicans have almost always just rolled over wringed their hands when attacked. Like it or not, Trump is beating them at their own game. The voters are eating it up, but it's still disgusting. At least the democrats now know what it feels like to be on the receiving end for a change.
Victimhood: Personally, I do not feel victims or families of victims of a tragedy have some special insight as to what should or shouldn't be done to prevent the next one, a great example are the 911 families. They have every right to their opinion and their grief, but that doesn't magically imbue them with the knowledge to resolve such issues or to decide if anyone else has contributed. It also does not give them licence to say anything they please without taking the consequences for what they say.
