I did insult her.

To the entire Cigarbid forum.

I hope she doesn't find out.

(although she is currently within about 9 miles from my position by the way the crow flies. I should have waited until they vacated the Vineyard.)

You forget the rules, my stone-headed liberal.
First ladies are fair game.
Presidential Kids are not, until they're adults themselves.
Which really doesn't matter, since the Obama kids seem as well-adjusted as any first family ever. One of them is even WORKING at an ice cream shack on Martha's Vineyard this summer.
I think that's awesome.

I never understood the demand for s visit mentality when infrastructure is compromised. So you want to bring the traveling circus of a presidential visit and lay it on top of the already existing chaos and lack of resources. Anyone ever involved in the planning and implementation of a Presidential visit would say other than optics or pure politics it does more harm than good in that situation.

Once again. Meh

I would totally agree and for those that don't know it is about the "optics."

“When the people of New Orleans and Gulf Coast extended their hand for help, help was not there. When people looked up from the rooftops, for too long they saw an empty sky. When the winds blew and the flood waters came, we learned for all of our wealth and our power, something wasn’t right with America. We can talk about what happened for a few days in 2005, and we should. We can talk about levies that couldn’t hold, about a FEMA that seem not just incompetent but paralyzed and powerless, about a president who only saw the people from a window on an airplane instead of down here on the ground, trying to provide comfort and aid,” Obama said then. “We can talk about a trust that was broken, the promise that our government would be prepared, will protect us, and will respond in a catastrophe.”

In all honesty, I would rather neither he or any other politician visit. I'd much rather him go on TV and say we have X,Y & Z enroute.

Tim said it best. We really don't need to have the infrastructure shut down so he can tour. The roads are needed so people here to actually lend a hand can move about as unimpeded as possible. As it is there more than enough sightseer's clogging the roads

When I went by the house yesterday there was a car with a Texas plate parked in my driveway. The driver and his passengers were walking in the street with cell phones taking video. At some point, there may be a video of me on youtube with a shovel in my hand hollering that they have 10 seconds to move their $%$& car before I start using it for batting practice.

It can be done correctly, but it won't be on the mainstream news, credit to Uncle Sam's Misguided Children's for sharing this.:

Quote:
Ok since the media will not tell anyone about this I will at least tell my friends and make this public so y'all can share and tell yours as well because I think it needs to be said.

Donald Trump visited Louisiana today. He brought with him a truck loaded with food, supplies, and toys that he personally passed out. He also donated money to a flood relief charity. He went and walked to flooded houses in a community. He didn't ask for state police or military security, I I imagine he may have had his personal security with him but hey he pays them so not my business. He didn't ask for any road to be closed to bring him in or an escort to his destination, as a matter of fact he didn't inform the government of his visit at all. He didn't care if the government knew he was coming, he just came and brought needy people supplies. And the news covered it about 15 seconds and then used it as a hit piece to plug Obama's visit that will happen. It was just wrong on many levels. No matter whether you agree with Trump's politics or not what he did today was honorable and good, and he did it without making a big deal of himself. I hope more people of his statue will do the same in the same way, without all the hype of announcing their visit with intent of a public photo op.

I highlighted the meat for you.

Democrats just jealous 'cause they feel they own the media and cannot stand that Trump is beating them at their own game.

Great, I hope you also watched/read them too. The highlighted one was good, even better:

The people handing him those hats to sign sounded pretty happy to have him there.

I didn't read them all gene and there are hundreds more slanted all different directions. The only way the press could be fair is if they pretended a douche isn't a douche. He was a douche before he got in to politics and before the republicans made the mistake of nominating him. He can pretend to be something else but he's Donald trump for Fuchs sake. It's funny to see folks pretend he is something else.

The one thing he isn't is a victim. I don't feel sorry for him or think anything is unfair.
