That Amazon is taking advantage of the US taxpayer, which I agree is a irrelevant point. IMO Amazon is just taking advantage of the lowest cost delivery available as any smart company would do. What Trump should be addressing is, why is the US taxpayer subsidizing the USPS year in and year out?

You're not wrong Dave... but ironically, they claim they need the bailout because of LACK of use of the postal service. You know, declining use of first class mail because of increased email use.
If (and this is a huuuuge if) the costs of package shipping through the USPS exceed what they are charging, they should simply raise their rates. The USPS was never intended to be a tax subsidized institution, and if they are losing money on every package shipped, then this has nothing at all to do with Amazon and they are not pricing appropriately.
Hell, lets play a "what if" game (not my favorite, but humor me just this once)... if amazon shipped exclusively through FedEx... and never used the USPS... I bet his tweet would claim that they're costing the US government money by not using the USPS.
He had no clue what he was talking about.... and was planning on criticizing amazon regardless...
But more importantly, he isn't smart enough to understand how companies make a profit or stay in the black. The USPS is supposed to remain in the black. If it isn't (and it doesn't appear to be) that's bad. But one doesn't bring a company into the black by taking away customers. You just change your fee structure.
