Outside or not at all - not a time for a good smoke. Small cigars and pipes when it's not too cold.

1. In the garage with a heater and my favorite rocking chair.

2. Since I am in the garage where I do my wood turning. The wood smell overtakes the cigar smell.

3. Just for chits and giggles, If not working with the lathe, I typically have a Bourbon in hand straight up. No ice needed.

Do you want to know what color draws I wear while out there? Meh I will tell you any way. NONE!Gonz

I live in the panhandle of Florida. So, it still can get cold...just not Oklahoma cold. During the Summer I had a partial, solid roof put in my pool enclosure area. I now have an outdoor, covered smoking area with a big ass flame thrower of a heater, chairs and a TV. It is a nice setup!!!!!

When it gets all the way down into the 70's, say about 76 or 78... I still smoke out on the patio at the Vets Hall on Kwajalein... BigGrin

Garage with a space heater and electric blanket. Can usually get temp up to 50 or a tad higher with the TV on. Think

Scotch or bourbon helps to warm me up as well.

Now, exactly what is "Oklahoma cold"? 50 degrees? d'oh!

Below freezing and with a 30 mph breeze. That was OK cold. Even with a large outdoor fire I couldn’t pull off a decent smoking temp.

Really? Lived in Fargo for 10 years. Now that's cold! Michigan's not as bad but OK? Really? Think

Regardless, bet you're glad to be in Florida. I'll be visiting Fort Meyers at the end of January. Applause

I smoke the same things I do in the summer. Screened in back porch, Presto Dish Heater, Dickies insulated coveralls, wool cap and Jersey knit gloves (with the fingers cut out on my cigar holding hand). I'm good even in the teens. Sometimes you just have to man up.

With that said, once the Jersey house sells, the first thing I'm doing is to build a large out building at the NC house. Better believe it will have a smoke den with ventilation, heat, A/C and a big flat screen.

It's Bennie.... Cool

The contract with the company I work for, KRS (Kwajalein Range Services) is done at the end of the year.

The new, main contractor is called RGNext (Range Generation Next). I'll be working for one of their subsidiary companies.

It's looking good so far...

I hope to have a couple of years with them.... but my retirement is looming right out there on the edge.... BigGrin

Of course there will be room for guests.

Jamie? The last time I saw him was when we smoked at his home a few years back. Big home on the top of a mountain. He seemed to be extremely healthy and spry for his age. I sure hope he's OK.

I hate when it the temperature drops below 70 and the humidity is in the low 60s. Brrrrr.

At that point I bundle up with socks, sweatpants and a jacket. I downsize my smokes to coronas with robustos or CGs max.

I’ve got a box of cracker crumbs 5 packs I need to tear into one. Haven’t had much of a chance lately to smoke. Weekends are bitter cold snowy weather or busy or I don’t feel like having a smoke.

It truly is Cigar drought season here, the older I get the more I dislike cold weather. The local VFW used to allow smoking so that was a great place to go to for a smoke and a drink but they went non smoking a few years back.

Smoke outside most of the time, I've always liked winter/snow/cold. No biggie.

Smoke more inside during the summer when it's hot/humid or raining. Man cave in the basement with ducted exhaust to outside. The smoke never makes it to any other part of the house.

Oh do not take me wrong GNF! My biatch loves the aroma of stogies as well.

It is not because she will not let me enjoy my stogie in the house. I just got to have a place that she refuses to go so I can GTF away for a bit. This way I can get in my own head in peace.

I have a very simple system to preemptively avoid disagreements and all other possible types of problems involving a wife:

Step 1: Never marry.

Thanks to Step 1 above, I call this special peaceful area "my entire property", and I am "in my own head in peace" for 24 hours each day.

I enjoy my cigars in the comfort of my home. I rarely smoke outside when it's cold (unless it is a business function). Smoking outside in the cold plays havoc with cigars, often resulting in split wrappers. Plus when reaching zero degrees at 8,000ft and above with feet of snow falling, even Bic lighters don't work outside.

Hear the same story every year. And every year my response is the same: If you can't or won't smoke in your own home, then don't complain about not being able to smoke in someone else's business, or having to compromise on what you would normally smoke because you won't smoke in your own home.

You built the tarp enclosure to smoke in... deal with it.

Before cutting, run the cigar upright under the faucet for a few seconds making sure to get the entire wrapper wet but not the foot, roll the cigar lightly on a paper towel to remove excess water, wait a minute or so, and cut and light. No more split wrappers in cold air. Yes, it really works. No, it has no bad effects, as long as you keep the foot dry (i.e. keep the cigar upright).

Xikar Stratosphere II lighter. It uses a "high-altitude windproof turbo flame" that's very different from ordinary jet lighters. It's said to light up to 12,000 feet reliably. Never tested it that high, but I still love the lighter! $26 or less with lifetime warranty.

Youz is a wise feller, I am just to attached to the other things that my biatch has to offer.

She saves me a lot of hard work and money due to the cost of Vaseline, Also I get good home cooked meals and clean draws. I am just the kind of guy that loves to have his cake and ice cream too. It is a sad addiction I know. Anxious
