If you receive a box from someone you don't know well, be careful. I suggest freezing and setting aside a box for new sticks from new people..... just to be safe. Nothing major lost but could have been bad if I didn't have that box specifically for noob sticks.
We now return you to our regularly scheduled program. That green stuff is bad......
Mold is more than likely caused by the 70/70 environment you have them in.Drop that RH to 63-65 and your mold issue is resolved.
Now on the subject of freezing sticks......I highly recommend freezing(0 F or below) every stick, regardless of source for no less than 72 hours,a beetle egg present in any stick can lay dormant til the right conditions are met and 70/70 is that perfect hatching environment.Freezing destroys any beetles or eggs present once and for all. This will not prevent mold in the future but it will prevent beetle outbreaks. It's best to start early in this game...β¦.as that stash grows in becomes increasingly important to protect your investment.
