A true story as follow up to Gene's eye opening article.
After my nieces first day of kindergarten she told my sister there would not be a second day. Then the explained the day. My sister was furious. She set an appointment with a highly regarded private school the next day, and an appointment with the public school principal and kindergarten teacher.
My sister politely explained that she had transferred my niece to the other school. The kindergarten teacher went off. Then my niece yelled stop! My niece said this. When I graduate high school I will have an excellent education and not be brainwashed, and eventually graduate MIT with a PHD. You on the other hand will be a mean ugly old d*ke, right now you are not old. Mom, let's go. My sister explained about she my niece why she should have politely lied. To which my my niece replied, so lying is always fine? My sister laughed and said point taken. Then said you should have added spiteful. My niece thought about it and said that would have been better.
My niece is very smart. She is in a gifted students program and in the class of gifted students 2 years older than the program she was originally placed in.
