$4 bux for a 10 oz bag isn't exactly cheap, nearly 8 bux a pound for pre-ground oxidized, stale before you open the package, coffee. All coffee is stale before you open it unless you buy fresh roasted coffee beans and grind it yourself every time you drink it. Coffee oxidizes like a cut apple or banana or potato as soon as it's ground, by the time you get it, any nutrients in it has dissipated.
A 5lb bag of Green coffee in bulk costs me 6 bux/lb, roasting doubles the size of the beans and grinding gives at least double or triple the surface area, so for six bux/lb, I get an ass load of coffee, and it's fresh. It takes me 20 minutes to roast approx one to two weeks worth of coffee, which gives me an excuse to hang out in the garage and smoke a stogie.
