So I hadda ask... if we leave it alone, will it heal on its own? She said, yes, it will. So I said... great, gimme some pain meds for him and we'll let it heal on its own, without the extra pain.
Why would she even want to cause him more pain by cutting it down if it'll heal on its own? He's not limping. He does his hour walk in the morning. I just see that he's not himself and it is causing him some discomfort.
I figured vets would be about what's best for the DOG, not their wallet. It's not about the money, let's keep the dog as comfortable and pain free as we can. I'm not even sure how or when he did it. This little dude doesn't cry out. FFS he got hit by a damn car and never made a peep. No yelp, no whine... nada. He's a Tank.
Newsflash: Healthcare is a for profit enterprise second only to pharmaceuticals. It’s not about what is best for the patient. It’s about individual Profit Centers. They don’t want the patient to die- they stop making money then.
Look up the medicine online and consider whether he needs the full dosage. If you can avoid it all together, even better.
Good luck, Tankster.
