If given another chance, we could easily improve on that record

jmgiovi - touche, of sorts...

You might have been implying "hautyness", and rightly so, but pejorative on it's own does not. I just don't see pejorative and hurtful having enough of a difference to make a contrast. In no way do I expect you to limit your vocabulary, but when I saw pejorative I wondered how it differed from the rest of your statement, and I spoke up. It was obviously not necessary, but I blame the caffeine...

What's your profession? I'm guessing your either in law or education. Am I close?

Sorry for the lapse. New to the BB. Just getting a feel for the norms.

So far I’ve got:
1) Everybody’s **** stinks…but none of us know that it applies to us.
2) No philosophy except quoting others.
3) It’s OK to slam somebody but not OK to reason through an argument.
4) No non-cigar posts except for slamming somebody…see #3.

Cool. Got it.

Dead thread…moving on. Thanks.

cwilhelmi,

I know I'm sick, but it's been fun. I yield on the pejorative piling on. My prose run amok.

I'm a Family Practice doc. And you?

I still think that color matching to the wrapper and band of the cigar is a GQ/Cosmo thing and really has a place somewhere...............but ohmygod! If you like em smoke em!

"Banter and discourse is good for a discussion board", and always remember, "A cigar is a cigar"!

jmgiovi ... your addition to the thread above shows that you've got a reasonably good handle on things with one likely exception ...

This thread, although well and thoroughly beaten, is far from dead ... witness the seemingly endless addtions to the "overbidding" thread long after it had should have been given a quiet burial ... same thing with the cigar-girl thing a couple of months ago ... that thread ran on for more than 100 addtions AFTER it was legally dead.

No, the thread's not dead ... you'll see ... we are the best damn thread-beaters on the 'Net ... in fact, we've got our own "thread-beatin' mascot ... you can find a pic of him being ceaselessly flogged over on the pic board ...

jmgiovi - Too funny, take everything on this board with a grain of salt, and be wary of my caffeine induced ranting. Overall, there's a lot of good info on this board, but you have to wade through a ton of worthless drivel to find it.

I'm a mgr of database marketing here in not so sunny San Fran. Where do you practice? My brother in-law is finishing his residency in Boston specializing in gastroenterology.

As far as prose run amok, I should be wary of my glass house!! Just too impulsive sometimes, which my humidors are evidence of.

Cheers,
chris

Chris,

I'm in Wisconsin now but moving to AZ in a couple of weeks. I spent 8 years in Boston for undergrad and med school. Loved it.

BTW..

How many of us have wives who smoke cigars?

My wife took a puff on my cigar once (and looked sexy doing it)...she didn't spit...but wanted to. .

Jim,

Well, what I mean is this; if you believe you are the smartest person in the workplace, but everyone think you are an idiot. You are not going anywhere and you might even be fired. If you goto the club thinking you are the hottest ****, but every girl think you are a piece of ****, you ain't getting a girl.

This might not imply to the person who is sane in an insane world and therefore insane as comparison to the rest of the world. You can even be the guy who sees the source as in Plato's cave. But see it from a micro-universe point of view as oppose to a macro-universe. If you go far and wide enough, you can find some village who believes you are a god; but until you find that village, you are not a god.

Just think of it as this, whatever you are not self-sufficient at, it is at the mercy of other people. If you need to spend money, you need to make money; and unlike vegetables which you can grow on your own, money has to be earned. This earned money comes from other people and depending on what they think of you, you can get as much or as little of it as you want, or even none at all.

This arguement will not hold up against those magic "Uncle Bob" arguements which goes like, my Uncle Bob prays to the money god and money flys out of thin air, and the likes.

The bottom line for me is that I do believe in this since my life is in no way self-sufficient. I have an employer and customers who I have to please. Their opinions of me counts way more than any of my own humble opinions of myself. Than aside from employment, which takes care of shelter, food, and the such, my love life is also based on what girls, those that I find attractive, thinks of me. This might be a catch 22 thing where we can argue on whether if I believe in myself and it will come or it came and therefore I believe in myself.

Nah, but who cares about this message. This message is only as important as the opinion of it from those who are reading this (Jim.) If those who read this belittles this message, than it is such, for I already know what this message says since I am the one who is writing this, and the writing of this message would have been in vain.

I am sorry for such a long message, I just needed a break from work.

Thank you all and goodbye.

Oh yeah, if I beleve in the BIG T truth, I wouldn't be a lawyer. If I can find the BIG T truth, I would be the world greatest judge. It is not finding whether someone is guilty or innocent that is hard it is finding the T truth that is hard.

I'm too young to be married so I have to just enjoy it when I have a girlfriend who likes cigars, or can at least tolerate them. From what I've heard on the board 3-5% of the guys on here have wives that will smoke with them...

jmgiovi asks "how many of us have wives who smoke cigars?"

While we were on vacation last year, MrsS went into a cigar store with me while I did a bit of shopping to supplement the 'gars I had in my travel humi ... she was attracted to a small, mild, flavored cigar and bought it ...

That night, she had me light it for her when I lit mine ... what began as a sort of a joke has evolved into her having her own stocked humidor from which she smokes about 3-5 cigars a week ...

Late last summer, some new folks moved in next door and we shortly learned he smoked an occasional cigar, although a bit indiscriminate in his taste. His wife, seeing mine light up one evening, tried one also and they have become semi-regulars on our backyard patio for a bit of evening herfing ...

and, in keeping with the original post in this thread, I might add that the cigars do not detract in the slightest from the attractiveness of either of them
