I usually start smoking these within a few weeks of getting them. I’ve had this one a few months. I could taste a much stronger mineral taste, a hint of salt and leather, but the coffee and cocoa notes were not there. I still enjoyed it. Perfect burn, draw.
One of the fun things about this hobby is figuring out when’s the best time to smoke a cigar. Sometimes it’s years before they peak, others are best younger but within a couple to 5-ish years before they lose their best traits. In the case of your LGC, could be that there’s a small window for them to be tasty but similar to Cubans, after that window passes, there’s another one where the tobaccos need to meld (…aka “sick period”…). You’ll hafta experiment and see if you prefer a fresh LGC or one with, perhaps, years of rest. Good luck in your search.
