Steve, there's nothing wrong with hanging onto one's ideals as one grows older. Seeing the world as it is, is not an excuse for not trying through the political process to make it better than it is. I believe that it would be fair for conservatives to not have to pay taxes. But then they should be forced to live in the world that finances. In that world, survival of the fittest would be the rule. Good luck to all the elderly, children and disabled. Screw em.....right?! Personally, I don't resent my taxes, it finances civilization. BTW, does your car have seat belts, air bags, abs? How about the gas mileage. Do you think that these safety issues were championed by conservative lobbyists? How do you feel about air pollution. Big business, without a liberal group of politicians and watchdogs always make the corporate bottom line the end all be all justification. I don't believe in the governmental support of those who won't work...I support the death penalty....I support taking down Saddam....but I don't believe in an across the board conservative agenda. I believe in liberal causes when it comes to the environment, workplace safety issues, fair wages for workers, freedom from discrimination in housing and employement. These are causes that are historically not championed by the right.
