Figures!

If you're a liberal, you'd believe in UFO's!

What's next, the Easter Bunny?

Time for the Montecristo Fight of the Week, go boys, go boys!

I do not know if we are the only "blessed" life forms that exist and it is something that has been investigated for over 60 years with no absolute conclusions! I had rather watch the X Files, but every one has an opinion and are welcome to state it!

Round 2?

dhofer ... you wrote "Hey, us liberals are just as level headed as ya'll republicans, if not more!" ...

a) ... run that sentence past your English prof ... we liberals would be correct
b) ... liberalism and level headedness are mutually exclusive terms ... one cannot be both. Almost by definition, liberals see the world as they wish it were or imagine that it could be while we conservatives see it as it actually is ... for that simple reason, the young and inexperienced tend to be liberals while the more seasoned among us, having learned the lessons of life, tend to conseratism ... now I know that doesn't explain Rickamaven ... being (Ithink) the most experienced in life among the group of us here, you'd naturally think he'd at least have reached the middle of the road by now. All I can imagine is that during his own college years, Rick must've been not only in the left hand lanes, but somewhere well beyond the horizon to the left ... Jupiter, perhaps.

Steve, there's nothing wrong with hanging onto one's ideals as one grows older. Seeing the world as it is, is not an excuse for not trying through the political process to make it better than it is. I believe that it would be fair for conservatives to not have to pay taxes. But then they should be forced to live in the world that finances. In that world, survival of the fittest would be the rule. Good luck to all the elderly, children and disabled. Screw em.....right?! Personally, I don't resent my taxes, it finances civilization. BTW, does your car have seat belts, air bags, abs? How about the gas mileage. Do you think that these safety issues were championed by conservative lobbyists? How do you feel about air pollution. Big business, without a liberal group of politicians and watchdogs always make the corporate bottom line the end all be all justification. I don't believe in the governmental support of those who won't work...I support the death penalty....I support taking down Saddam....but I don't believe in an across the board conservative agenda. I believe in liberal causes when it comes to the environment, workplace safety issues, fair wages for workers, freedom from discrimination in housing and employement. These are causes that are historically not championed by the right.

You know, I find belief in UFO's and liberalism fall into distinctly similar categories. It all falls back into the belief that the world in one big huge conspiracy.

I met a person hithiking on a freeway onramp one day who also felt that everyone was conspiring against him. That UFO's really crashed in Roswell and had made attempts to communicate with him. That George Bush was the ultimate evil and had the CIA sending laser beams to his head to try and extract his thoughts. He was also an older man. Very liberal in his mindset.

Once I made sure his name wasn't Rick, I told him he would need another layer of foil under the metal collander he was wearing on his head. Lasers are way more powerful these days. I told him he couldn't hitchhike on the freeway even though it was a free country. I sent him on his unmerry way.

Just shows you what worrying about conspiracy, UFO's and George Bush does to ones brain over an extended period of time.
