One of the first cigars I started with (a C.A.O. Cameroon), I chose by the look...and because there were only about 4 left in the box...a good sign!
I have never smoked a short, thin, or mild cigar just because I was a beginner OR a woman...I smoke what appeals to me and as Slim once said, or something of the sort, I'm all about the girth...just kidding...well, sort of!
But seriously, what I think is a good cigar is a good cigar is a good cigar. Let HER decide on what she feels is a good cigar. I recently *cringe* *gag* *shudder* tried a few puffs of a flavored cigar and hated it. Well, hate may be a strong word. I WON'T try another again, put it that way.
If I want a cherry soda, I'll have a cherry soda. If I want a cognac, I'll have it. If I want honey, I'll put it on my toast thank you! But don't MESS with my cigars. I enjoy the distinct flavors of the different tobacco blends and so on.
A while back, I had been advised by Todog to try La Gloria Cubana Corona Gorda. JJohnson28 recommended C.A.O. Cameroon and Extreme (love both btw)and Cliffie suggested Punch Gran Cru among others...Eleltea said the answer is Excalibur...JD1 said PAM among others and calavera said Davidoff No. 2 in the Panatela size. Chris said Perdomo Reserve X Maduro and xrundog said Excalibur #5.
I hope that may help. The store ought to have at least SOME of these suggestions! Search for the thread "Need your best input ASAP..." to find all of the suggestions...it got me on the right track!
