To me, one dimensional means that the cigars holds the same taste over the entire length of the cigar. A good cigar changes flavor, more than just getting stronger, because it was blended to do that.
As far as the RyJs, y'all hit the nail on the head. Very mild and very boring, but extremely well made. Try the RyJ Vintage. It's a much better cigar and quite a bit more complex, but not too strong or too harsh.
