Rush - Feedback

The exception to the rule that I won't listen to anything after Hemispheres. Feedback is one of the best cover albums ever. I do wish some of the songs were a little less faithful to the originals, but it is a very fine tribute to an incredible, developmental era in rock

Saw him a couple years ago down here at the Cape Cod Melody Tent.
Great place to go, pretty small and intimate.
Hiatt was phenomenal.

Yeah, I've seen him several times Solo and with the Goners.......he was great every time. I saw him 3 weeks after 9/11 at the Capital Center for the Arts in Concord NH....another small intimate venue(about 900 seats), and he was solo.......He performed for more than 3 hours......great show and very Patriotic American. He uses his voice as an instrument.
I've been to Cape Cod Melody Tent many times.......South Shore Music Circus in Cohassett is another good venue.

Here is one of my personal favorite Hiatt tunes........he uses his voice to great effect here......my wife hates this but......

Could not find it on YouTube, but if I'm not mistaken, this is a later incarnation of the band, with just a few of the original members. Still good, but not nearly as good as the original band.

IMHO, NOBODY even comes close to their harmonies.

My wife and I have seen them DOZENS of times over the years.
We even got to go back stage at a small club in Philly to meet them. They treated us like we were life long friends and even bought us drinks while we chatted for about a half hour. "Our song" is actually their rendition of "Looking for an Echo".
It still gives me chills when I think of the statement that was printed on every one of their albums, which was ...
"This album contains no instrument other than the human voice."

They were my favorite band, until Sonia Dada came along and dethroned them.

I remember when they were the middle group with New Riders of the Purple Sage and the Grateful Dead in 1970. Believe they opened their set with "Fresh Air" and Dino Valenti actually reached down into the crowd, grabbed an offered doobie and took a big hit. Cool times! Herfing
