Old Forrester Statesman and Old Forrester Signature 100 proof.Picked up a bottle of each Saturday. Both have been on my radar for sometime now.The OF 100 proof is the kissing cousin to Woodford Reserve so I paired all three against each other,Statesman won but not at twice the price better than OF 100 proof and the Woodford came in dead last.I much prefer the OF 100 to WR,thicker mouthfeel, more complex and a better burn without that metallic taste on the finish. Also close enough to Statesman to save that extra 30 bones. Now if I can find it in a handle.

Yes, he redshirted his freshman year after having hip surgery. Coach put him on a full scholarship if he would play in the fall. Which is a big deal when you play a sport that offers 9 total scholarships of 25-30 players.

Was gifted a Botique bourbon called MB Rolands.

113 proof. That should warm and curl the toes.

Had the Roland's Single Barrel. That's a lot of heat.

This Dark Fired version will be bringing more heat.

Isn't it tougher picking all of the nuances off of something that potent?

For less money you may want to give Aberlour A'bunadh a try. No age statement but higher proof.

Some would recommend a teaspoon of water or a plug of ice to tame the heat. The only bourbons I have had to tame were George T Stagg, can't remember the proof but it was a fireball, and Elijah Craig Barrel Proof,136 proof. The Stagg never really hit my zone regardless of water or ice.The EC really shined with just a teaspoon of water,my guess that dropped the proof into the 120 zone.It was absolutely perfection there.I love Old GrandDad 114.........neat is the only way to go.I suppose the heat may be a little much in some of the higher proofs but in the 100-120 range just works for me.........I love that hot cinnamon finish.

Longbranch.

New collaboration between Matthew McC and Wild Turkey.
It’s ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT

Definitely taste like a Turkey Bourbon with some extra smoothness and slightly sweet finish. 86 proof.

It’s good. Not amazing. I’d drink it. Simple and easy, not overly complex.

If you like Turkey and wished it was smoother you should enjoy it. I’ll keep a bottle around
