What Whiskey You Drinking 1,000,000

Breaking & Entering

I really liked this bourbon but would not recommend it to most who are used to the prototypical sweetness of America's whiskey. It is nearly impossible to find out if it is "wheated" or a rye style bourbon, but based on the spiciness present I'd guess rye.

It's good, and it is serious. Not kid's stuff.

don't listen to frank, he was not completely correct. a return visit, this time neat first time with a splash, revealed some sweetness up front, complexity followed, long finish...this is a fine bourbon that I found more enjoyable and flavorful than straight up than with a splash.
worked very well with a LFD DL452.

I'm making the big comeback! HA!

Love bourbon and those 452s, one of the all time tastiest pairings possible, IMHO

Hey Ron, you like bourbon with RyJ C en C? Smoking one of them later, haven't figured the mate yet.

Oh yeah, also pairing with flexoril so, you know, one drink only.

Alternating between Balvenie Doublewood and Jura Origin for the last couple of weeks.

I'd pair the flexoril with a Vicodin, 4 fingers of basil Hayden's, and a tat black lancero. If it were me.

Ya know I usually pair the RyJ with AM coffee.......but if it's late evening yet still the first cigar of the day I go with Balvenie Doublewood. The stone fruit in the Balvenie just sings with the RyJ.

I've not tried this but the Elijah Craig should really shine with the RyJ also.If you don't have any try the Elmer.

didn't think scotch...have almost a full Macallan 12, a little Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, a shot of Carib Cask.

Thanks gents, I got it covered. Now, where'd I hide the vicodin?

^ didn't care a whole lot for that one, thought it was ok. I just grabbed some WL Weller they had 107a but I got the 12 instead, hope that wasn't a mistake.

Also grabbed some supplies for apple pie.

Let me know how that weller 107 that's the only one I can get here ( no 12 to be found yet). No dickel here either for some reason.

Whistle Pig is really something, but I'd need to get a second job or a newspaper route to afford it. They even came out with 11 year old and it costs way more!

Saw the original 10 year old W.P. rye in a New Hampshire State liquor outlet today for 65 clams. About as low as I've ever seen it.

I didn't care for this one at all......moldy pine on the finish was a huge turn off.As a matter of fact it tasted like nothing else I've tried out of the BT Distillery.None have been breathtaking but none were as awful as ER either.

I can't find the weller 12 but can get the 107 is there a huge difference? thought about getting the 107 and evan Williams single barrel next time I am in there.
428. Author: tyyler82Date: Thu, 12/19/2013, 5:32PM EST
Yes. Pretty big difference. OWA 107 is still good though. Sweeter, hotter, more fruit and much less oak/tannins. Younger and higher proof.

The EW Single Barrel is one I have yet to try. On the 'list' though.

Glenfarclas 12 last night, very easy to drink, very nice too. Might be considered beginners scotch by real scotch drinkers but I liked it a lot. No smoky peat to deal with.

Your right whistlebriches I do taste a pine on the end there. not sure of the moldy part but I am still learning what I am tasting.

Tyyler that description of the 107 actually sounds like something I might like. Probably will get that and the ew single now.

Well glad to know that pine flavor is not just me.The moldy part however may be........couple years ago I helped my brother in law move some wet mildewed pine plywood.......now all damp pine smells moldy to me.Anyway I'll finish my bottle probably mixed,Old Fashioned or something along those lines to cover the pine flavor, but I'll pass on purchasing more.
