yes it is.... looking for Montes Alpha..they had Classic and a Limited. Got 1 of each. Limited actually mix, 70% Cab...30% something else. Very decent for $13 |

^ Carmenere is the 30%. It is a grape that is similar to Merlot, but it has much more flavor. I have heard it referred to as Merlot on steroids. It is indigenous to Chile. |

This is our favorite vinyard, and they don't distribute at all...found a store out their way (but not as far) that had this WAY cheaper than the vinyard and covered in dust and older than what's available at the vinyard. They're pretty much a member supported place.
Very fruity black cherry and a boozy finish (14.5%) and a very pleasant taste as that boozyness subsides. Hot stuff @ 14.5% |

last night I opened it to have with a little lasagna, tonight I finished it with some chicken in sesame/soy/ginger vinaigrette with steamed cauliflower which I sparked up with Hank's Heat Hot Sauce that I got from Shaun.
Believe it or not, I liked this chianti better with the chicken! |
413. Author: Speyside | Date: Fri, 2/3/2017, 8:40PM EST | |
That makes sense actually. Chianti has a relatively high acidity. So it would pair up great with the vinaigrette, the ginger, and the hot sauce. Also that particular Chianti is light enough that it would match the chicken well. |

Tasted some fantastic Rose this month that caused some excitement
Minuty Rose. French from Provance. Super soft and delicate. Pale in color and light on the nose and finish
Cline ancient vines rose. Tons of red fruit on the nose. Very fruit forward. Slightly acidic. shockingly in your face for a rose, but in such a good way.
Both were hits but the Cline was an in the park Home Run
Also 19 Crimes launched a Shiraz. Nice, easy to drink. It was what I expected. |

Then he said, why are Jews noses so big? I said man I have no idea. He said because the air is free. Then he said, I heard that and it makes no sense to me. I had to laugh. No offense Frank....you're my brother from another mother. |

Nice score on the Gabbiano Mattie. It is a nice entry level Chianti that uses classic Chianti grapes. Most of your flavor is from the Sangiovese. Colorino is blended in to give a darker color. Canaiolo softens the blend. |
