The democrats are fools.

Whether one cares about DACA or not, you have to agree this is pure stupid by the dems.

Assuming they actually wanted to pass a DACA extension before it expires in March, with the knowledge that the orange f$$tard has already torpedoed a bill to extend it which was supported by both dems and reps... they were idiots to accept a "pinky swear" from McConnel. He didn't even promise anything more that "we'll look at it".

Who wants to take bets on how the DACA program will be torpedoed?

Think the Senate won't pass anything?
Think something will pass the Senate but not the House?
Think a joint bill will make it to El Presidente F#$$tard and he'll veto it?
Some combination of the above BS?

Although you don't state your love for illegals, you are showing your hand nonetheless.
Trump might veto something. So you're upset (outraged by the tone of your post) that the democrats acquiesced to the GOP empty promise.

I think you might be correct.
But your hatred bleeds right through.

So you should forgive brother Drafter for misinterpreting your angst.
Your vile partisan hatred can make it difficult to follow the point.

Don't be obtuse tail. It's due to your desperate need to stuff partisanship where it doesn't belong. Part of your trump derangement syndrome.

My premise is simple. IF (this is the beginning of an if-then clause, I know it's a challenging concept to wrap your head around but if you try, maybe you can do it) the dems really wanted X, THEN (this is the second part of an if-then clause. It requires the first to be true before moving on. It also is important to note that it ONLY requires the first to be true, not any additional fantasy ideas you may have in your tiny head) they were fools to give up the single point of leverage they have in congress between now and March.

The orange f--ktard is completely unreliable (one can say this without having any care over DACA. It's well documented that the orange f--ktard has torpedoed other DACA deals, after saying he would sign "anything". He has been inconsistent in everything he has said and done well before being president.) so they have no reason to have any expectation that he will cooperate in any instance they don't have leverage.

The Reps are a majority. They don't really need a whole lot from the dems between now and March, and even if they do, the dems have given up their bargaining chip here, so they'll have to give in on something else in the future to get the votes. McConnel only agreed to "discuss" it, not to vote yes.

Do I think the orange f--ktard is a raving idiot? Yes. Does that really have any impact on my post? Only in as much that it must be used to inform the idea that he is inconsistent in his dealings, so they're idiots to pin any hopes on him if they have no leverage.

But you don't get any of this... your trump derangement syndrome keeps you from seeing anything beyond what you believe to just be partisan statements

Chuckle just showed his hand. They're not doing anything.

What was the whole point of trying to add this to the budget debacle? Leverage?

Face it. The Dems don't want DACA either. It just wasn't worth the "fight". I've seen wet paper bags hold longer than this crop of Dems.

all talk...there won't be a bill...Dems need 11 GOP senate votes, and only got 4...and that's if all the Dems line up, which they didn't this time around...

doubt there'll be a Shutdown II...

Dems lack the will to play political hardball...interesting how quickly the GOP locked arms against Obammy, who hadn't done much before the GOP started their opposition...

Now we have a President who has had a full year of chaos, and the Dems are a buncha puzzies...who don't mind letting the Puzzie -Grabber -in Chief grab 'em...

Dow up 32% since inauguration... economic growth topping 3% for 2 quarters and predicted to top 4% for the 4th... retail sales post biggest gains since 2014... unemployment at lowest level in 17 years (even though I don't like how they compute it, it was the same computation for Obama)... number of Americans receiving jobless benefits at a 45 year low (again, not a fan of the computation but it's the same)... American's on food stamps at the lowest level since 2010.

✓ Hezbollah IranDeal @BarackObama

✓ Dossier #ReleaseTheMemo FISA @FBI

We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fold, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they are flown in the last war

There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, bye and bye
And a parting on the left
Is now a parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I read that a bipartisan coalition led by Collins and Klobuchar, supported by Graham and Durbin, were instrumental in getting the Senate's approval to pass the CR and end the shutdown...

maybe a hopeful sign that real leadership is beginning among moderates in the Senate, especially the women...gotta get the d*cks outta the room...Congressional approval numbers can't go any lower...

so now, the third option seems most likely...bill passed by the Senate, fails in the House...

McConnell knows the House, and the opposition there by a strong segment of GOP, can't pass any immigration reform... so it won't hurt him, just give him cover, to let it pass in the Senate.

They threw a temper tantrum and the adults in the room let them and walked away while they did it. Tried offering "candy" and it did no good. It was only when their base raised holy Hell did they actually stop what they were doing. They got nothing. They shut down the budget talks for nothing. Nothing odd at all, Repubs didn't have the same balls or party rot the dems did when they passed it to repeal an unconstitutional law in full. This was the puuuzy way out but still effective. Open enrollement will be a disaster. You think they will do better now that it's not mandated? Wth
47. Author: delta1Date: Thu, 1/25/2018, 11:53AM EST
so....you were just kidding when you said "That POS repealed itself."

But I do agree with you that the lack of a mandate (which didn't repeal itself) will be a critical determination during open enrollment this year, for Obamacare's survival. Do Americans really like being able to buy healthcare with basic and adequate coverage without regard to whether or not they have pre-existing conditions? Or were they just forced to do so by the mandate?

Those elements of Obamacare (minimum levels of coverage and no restrictions on pre-existing conditions) are still in effect...

btw: Obamacare survived Trump's cutting off federal subsidies...
