I swear can't win for losing. I was hoping to get some good news from my Dr visit yesterday but nope.

I knew that my original stroke was embolic meaning a blood clot formed on my mechanical valve and broke loose and went to my brain blocked a vessel thus damage was done. The good thing about these if there is such a thing, is that most times the clot can be broken up either by treatment or naturally and the brain starts to receive blood flow again to that area. This meaning no further damage is done once that happens. Depending on the amount of time without blood flow decides how much damage is done and if not to server the brain sometimes can heal. I thought this was my case.

I find out yesterday that I now have a Thrombus as well in my posterior cerebral artery on the right side. This meaning that this vessel is completely closed off and no blood flow at all to that area of my brain. I guess this would explain why the wife has noticed some of my issues getting worse since the original stroke took place. The Dr informed us that nothing can be done for this due to the length of time and that area is gone forever. Mehh again such as life right? Now tell me how lucky I am to still be kicking and able to enjoy life cause this was a kick in the nuts for me. I don't know why but it was. d'oh!

Any how all that aside, for those that might be interested and like myself get into science, P&A all that good stuffs here is a diagram of what part of my brain is now gone for good. No Hamk didn't draw this with his crayon markers but it is a very basic site. The area that I have lost is the right side sagittal in blue. This view is at the transverse plane.

No need to be sorry brother it is life. On the serious side I do need to hear it, see it, read it however you want to put it. Due to I do get fed up with it all from time to time. Especially when what little hope I had gets yanked.

I thought that with the current diagnosis I had, over a long period of time, I might be able to rebuild those neuro pathways. The Dr was hopeful of this as well. Now we know that this will not happen well, unless aliens come pick me up and rebuild my gord using some out of this world tech. We can still hope right?

When we got news of this I had noticed my wife just sunk. I could feel her hope just suddenly gone. It was like someone took all the wind from her and stuck it in a paper sack and sold it on ebay. The whole dang room changed. That broke my heart because I know what kind of burden it can be having to deal with a family member that is screwed in such a way.

I know I still gotta keep going and every day trying to work out my gray matter. Dr's are not always right but trying to hang on to that at times it gets very old very fast.

The thing is this hopeless feeling is not for myself. Granted it sux major balls on my behalf. Losing my capability of mental capacity and function has and still is a big fear of mine, but in seeing what it does to my wife that is the serious kick in the balls. Even though my wife didn't say nothing bad, I can tell what it did to her when that info was laid on the table. She keeps telling me that no matter what and all that good Jazz but I still know what it's doing to her physically and mentally. To see that hope in her vanish in an instant well that's what kills me more than anything else and to know that I am the cause. If any of that makes sense.

I do greatly appreciate it brother but I doubt that very seriously.

My body says "Bwahahahaha, OOO Squirrel, and the next thing I know I am in the bathroom trying to figure out where all the dishes went. Then trying to remember when the hell did I put a toilet in the kitchen.

No she would never give up on me, though, she might start drugging me and knock my arse out to get a break.

Saturday. Going to head out to buy about 20 bags of mulch and some plants for my wife and I to spruce up the front yard now that spring has arrived. Time to re-do the tired landscape. Thankfully, my wife likes doing the heavy work like dragging the mulch, digging out old shrubs and bushes and planting new shrubs

22 Indian Hawthorn
14 Podocarpus
7 Agapanthus (Nile Lilly)
3 Holly (Burford)
1 Bottle Brush Tree (Weeping variety)(My favorite tree!)

Used to work Mon-Fri and be off every other Friday. Not no mo...

I work nights... Wednesday through Friday and every other Saturday, 12 hour shifts. Bumps my annual pay and gives me more days off, but the trade-off is working nights every 4 months. We rotate days/nights every 4 months. I'll be back to days May-Aug. Days is Thu-Sat and every other Wednesday.
