Morning gents. A bear was spotted on a trail the wifey runs most mornings. I told her to make sure she is with someone slower than her.

Got first in series of two shingles vaccinations on Monday.....wondering if I shouldn't have taken my chances with the shingles. Maybe I'll become an anti-vaxxer

I haven't kept up with all of Dan's travails. I didn't think there was much to his property that he hasn't already fixed in the last few weeks.

I had the shingles a few years ago...you don't want the shingles...can't imagine the anti-shingles vaccination being worse...

may do some research to see if shingles can recur...if they can, I may go for the vaccine...
418. Author: Ram27Date: Thu, 9/19/2019, 12:55PM EST
Delta, indeed shingles can recur. Had another follow up shot about a month ago and need another in the next couple of months. This shot was one beouth, hurt for almost a week.
Still better than shingles reoccurring ,had them years ago although mild case still very painful. Get the shots.

thx guys....I knew it was a poor exaggeration when I typed it

I've never minded past vaccines in the slightest - this one not only hurt quite a bit for ....going on four days....but I felt pretty flu-like the day after, as well
421. Author: rfenstDate: Thu, 9/19/2019, 2:08PM EST
Does the shingles injection hurt worse than a flu shot or tetnus shot?
422. Author: Ram27Date: Thu, 9/19/2019, 2:21PM EST
Yes Robert, not shot, effect from shot sore hurting arm.

Got a letter in the mail from the IRS (never a good thing). Supposedly I forgot or they never received/processed my 2017 taxes. After waiting on hold for over an hour I finally get to a human. They say that they are intending to levy my pay until I get it cleared up.

Angry

Well, guess this weekend I'll need to dig into my files and find all the tax crap from 2 yrs back.

Back to work. Critically short staffed tonight, with an inexperienced crew, and I slept poorly.

This'll be fun.

I do many things poorly but sleep is not one.

Had the first shingles shot with zero discomfort. Is the second one different?

New stuff released last year...Shingrix or something...much more effective....but effects are much more

Certainly must affect different people differently, too
441. Author: frankj1Date: Thu, 9/19/2019, 5:08PM EST
so the affects are effective?

My wife works on the base in Coronado, at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites. Sorta like a hotel for guys transiting through. She brings me beers left behind in the little fridges. I have a bunch, plus my Paulaner Oktoberfest Wiesn, and Lattitude 33 Honey Hips. Sam Adams 76, Ballast Point Lager, Modelo, Stell Artois... she knows better than to bring me anything that says IPA.

Had my first round a month ago.

The 33% chance got me to a coin flip on whether or not. Knowing an outbreak can be anywhere from 1-6 months, and could return was enough for me.

My wife is just getting over her second bout in the last 5 years. I'm guessing the vaccine is in her future, and probably mine.
