6 mile bike ride with wife n boy.

And that's it for today's plans until dinner. Rubbed and wrapped a pork tenderloin yesterday for dinner today.

Was at the grocery store and it seems that pork is the only meat not insanely priced even though it's double normal price. They increased their price on 70/30 ground beef to $9.99/lb!!! Their shelves were FULL of beef. The pork, chicken, and turkey were not full. The tenderloin was $10, about normal.

74F and constant rain today.
I am expecting 2" so I know I am going to have to do some pool work tonight or tomorrow. On the bright side- I can wear my new rain jacket that I got in December for the very first time.

Sounds like your skimmer doesn't work any better than mine. I have to do it manually to get it clean.

In other news; Honda came through with my request for reimbursement for the dead battery that was less than two years old. I paid $187 for a new one from AutoZone and they are sending a card worth $200. Only good at a Honda dealer but I can use it for any service, parts, etc. I'm thinking tie rod guards.

Wife made a blanket for sister's new kid, so heading up to drop that off. She's only a couple blocks from some of the biggest riot/looting areas, hopefully I can get through. Haven't heard anything about stuff happening today, but the city has piled giant stone blocks over the roads in several places.

In order to enter stores now, do I need to bring a face mask or a brick?

Booked a camping trip.

Now time to grill brats.

Tomorrow gonna have to jack up the trailer to lube hubs n stuff. I wasn't planning on going out at all this year but wife insists. Campers are like boats, every time you take it out, it's $500.
480. Author: MACSDate: Thu, 6/4/2020, 4:54PM EST
Um... yeah, no that ain't true.

I might have spent $100 a trip. My buddy and I would spend $50 each. That was gas AND live bait. My boat was smaller (21 foot) and the launch ramps and parking in most of SoCal are free. Add in ice, beer and a sammich... still only $70 each.
481. Author: danmdevriesDate: Thu, 6/4/2020, 5:25PM EST
Well then, campers are more expensive than boats. But I rarely go less than 3 nights.

$100 in fuel minimum for most trips at 7-8 mpg. $30/night x 3 nights plus tax n fee was $114. Lots of beer and ice, $100. Food usually around $100 for a trip. Then firewood, i usually buy $80-100 worth, but i bought my neighbors pile when he moved for $200 and should get 4 trips out of it.

But I have no camper payment other than insurance at $30 something a month.

I’m guessing Danm’s trailer requires a little more maintenance than your boat did....

40 minute walk with my son through a wooded area. Almost took him by a grave. Whooops.

Most of my systems are broken and hillbillied. Old ammonia fridge that ran on 110v and 12v/propane broke so I now have a residential compressor fridge. No water heater anymore, and furnace long gone. Only real maintenance is on the axles/hubs which a saltwater trailer would need more often.
485. Author: MACSDate: Thu, 6/4/2020, 5:38PM EST
Well if I went 3 days in a row... then it'd be 100-140 per day depending on how far we had to chase the fish. My boat was paid off, too. 115hp engine and a light boat. The one I want is a bit heavier and has a 200hp.

The trailer had easy grease hubs with zirc fittings and we always washed the whole damn thing as soon as it came out of the water. So in 3 years I did exactly zero trailer maintenance aside from rinsing and greasing.

Heart and head are not in agreement at the moment. Heart wants another boat... head wants to pay off the house first. At the moment the head is winning... so I need to drop that money on the house before the heart can mount a comeback.

Um... I'm not sure I see why that'd be a problem?

Or do you mean one of the sites where you buried the bodies?

....gotcha... don't want to have to silence this child too....

Kinda in the same boat... d'oh!

I wanted to skip this year altogether and use the money for things we need more, like a septic system.

Need a new truck too, and I 100% want this to be the last year we have this camper. Whether it gets totalled out by an insurance claim or I sell it come spring. I wanted to get 5 years out of it, and we got it.

I'd rather pay off all my debts before taking on a "new" camper.
