Looking forward to the this year's adventures of danm's battle against the raccoons.
Mid 60's and cloud covered. On and off rain is predicted for the day. Was thinking of going to check out the local flea market. It's a big one that runs every Sunday from spring to fall. But if it's going to be a pissy rainy day I'll just do nap, homework and stuff. Prolly go to the fried chicken place for a late lunch/early supper.

Mornin. Cool and rainy in NOWEMO. Exactly what I need today. Worn out. Starting a small business from scratch ain't really no country for old men but it's mostly for the wife so onward and upward. My wife suffers from clinical depression and does not thrive in a regular work environment. I've told her for years she needed to start a small business to sell her baked goods but she always struggled to maintain any kind of continuity with it. So I did it. Basically on a whim, I signed us up to be in a Farmer's Market last July. And it's been bat$hit crazy ever since. and she's never been happier. That, my brothers, is the only thing that matters. |

I'm much more happier doing simple stuff yet challenging myself on new things than I was doing the daily grind and fighting the tides. Yep. Me too, Buck. Our little enterprise has given me something to focus on. Not just now but for the future. Any profits we make for the business will go back into it and be stashed away for retirement. It also IS my retirement. I will build this little thing over the next few years while I slowly withdraw from the corporate world until one day I will just stop doing the corporate stuff. Having this to focus on has left little room in my head for worrying about the state of the world. It sucks...will continue to suck...and even if I was worrying about it, will always suck. Right now, my world does NOT suck, even if it does make me tired. |

70 degrees, low humidity and high humility. One cigar friend finally out of the hospital after 11 days in A-Fib. He’s home and still Fibbin.
A different cigar brother is in the hospital, having at least a triple bypass surgery tomorrow morning.
Maybe they aren’t the all natural health miracle they are supposed to be. I get all my health info from the Central American Department of Cigars. |

Damn! Again, adds perspective to life. Enjoy what you have... as little or big as it might be... it might not be there tomorrow.
Me and my daughter walked down to Dunkin' Donuts (10 min walk). Cloud burst came over and we walked home in rain then the rain stopped when we got to the door.
If that's the worst that happens to me today, I'm thinking it's a pretty good day.

I hate driving in LA traffic. Makes me want to go postal. Boston (Logan) airport sucks to drive to too. It's a sea of off ramps and if you miss the one for the airline you are trying to get to... another 20 min to do the loop again. If you happen to get in the wrong lane, you end up in NH. Last time I flew out of Logan, I did the Logan express bus. Have someone drive you to Framingham (about a 45 min drive... I live in podunk MA), and catch a coach bus to the airport (they run every hour from like 5 AM to 3 AM). $9.00 for the bus ride in and they take you right where you need to go. Tolls to get to the airport are like $15 in and $15 out, then add gas and the headache of driving in... For me, doing the bus shuttle is a no brainier. I like no brainier solutions. |

It's an easy enough drive to LAX if there weren't 8 million other people on the roads. The design isn't the issue... it's all the cars, trucks, buses and people... going to the same place at the same time. |

I'm much more happier doing simple stuff yet challenging myself on new things than I was doing the daily grind and fighting the tides. He made it through the surgery, still heavily sedated in the ICU. Younger than me, veteran of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. Big into bourbon and good cigars. Dirty poor family background out of SE Arkansas. Their small homestead was so close to the Mississippi River. Really made something out of himself. Also quite the character. His surgeon grumbled at him as he came into his room to check on him and he was readying an issue of Cigar Aficionado. |

Fun at the shpo.
Day started with .... "Follow the guy in the red Ferrari and don't lose him." I was in a VW Passat. Day ended with driving a 2013 Ford F-150 which didn't have a cluster (no speedometer, transmission indicator, gas gauge etc.)
In the middle, the Ride of the Day was probably an Infinity QX30 sport utility.
