Summer's here and the time is right....(500)

First course of pavers is down. About 300 to go.

Rained all day all night, the humidity is brutal.

gonna make burritos or tacos for lunch
153. Author: danmdevriesDate: Thu, 5/19/2022, 1:38PM EST
And I'm spent. Moving and leveling bags of wet sand and 70lb pavers wore me down quickly.

I got about 1/3 done.

Part of what took me out was buying bagged stone at menards. The dump truck I ordered he warned me he was about a ton light. Rather than pay $200 delivery fee for another truck for a yard or two of stone I bought 2yds of bagged stone. 120 bags I loaded and unloaded. Dump truck may have been cheaper, $500 for that stone. Still haven't seen the bill for the 9yds I had delivered so I don't know. Maybe it would be better to pay for another truck. But I still need to truck in two loads of black dirt too.

I should've done overtime at work and paid for this patio. It's a lot more work than I remember, and I remember it being a lot of work. 4-6 hours per day tops is all I can muster.

Gonna finish up taking a dump then have a shower and go back out to mow the lawn.

Wife got home from Wisconsin and had a fit about the 3 cracked pavers. I ran the compactor over them to bed em in, and 3 cracked. I replaced them but she's pissed off to level 10. Wants me to hire someone now. Told her to get a job and hire someone then. Didn't go over well. Now I have zero ambition to finish the job.

I have been checking new Honda lease/purchase deals over the last couple months and cannot believe how much the prices have gone up over the last 12 months. Like 25-30% on the model I want.

Then, I looked at their used cars and saw that they have gone up again. Unreal.

Here in Orlando, you would get damn near what you paid for it. Any Honda dealer would be able to sell it faster than a new car of the same model for the same price as a new model (2022), just because it is immediately deliverable and new Honda's aren't.

What model is it?

2015 Honda Accord. Fairly loaded. It literally just sits most days and since used car prices have gone nuts I’m letting it go. I work from my home office and the wife commutes 2 miles and only two days a week. We solved San Francisco Bay Area traffic!

My wife's 2017 C300 has 89k miles on it. But she's giving her 2 weeks notice Monday. :)

Carmax offered 16k for it. I think in this market we can get more.

Why did I think it was a 2020 model? I take back what I wrote about its value.

I have a Sport SE and loved it before it was crashed into. Gonna get another new one- if they even exist anymore- as soon as the one I have now gets out of the repair shop in like 45-60 more days... if there are no supplements and all the oem parts come in on time....

It's probably a good point in that car's life to get rid of it before it starts to have little problems that are spendy.

We’re still getting a bit under 2/3rds of what we paid for it.

Sink is in. Lights are in.
Tile guy is 75% done.
Microwave mounted (felt weird watching).
Bonus content- doorbell replacement and new curtain rod in front of the patio door.

Furnace Party: Lennox is out. Final pick will be either Carrier or Trane.

Trane: Slightly higher rating, higher price, lighter on the warranty, slightly more expensive on replacement filters.
Carrier: Above average rating, a couple hundred bucks less expensive, stronger warranty and less expensive filters.

Returned lights, fed geese bad Cheerios, bought beer and triple sec. Italian Sausages and fruit salad for lunch. Cut and stacked a bunch of wood from the tree trimmings.

Bought a new, more comfortable bicycle seat. Shopped electric bikes. So many considerations there

Juan Lopez cigars and a few Barrel bourbons with the guy who did the cutting.

13 miles on the bike.

Back is a achin'. Shouldn't have gotten up at 4:00 am. Makes for a long day.

This week damn near killed me... Trying to clear the decks to take a week off and take the fam to the beach, but every project I have at work came to a head and a bunch of new stuff came in too. It's a good problem to have when you work for yourself, but it's taking months off my life trying to get all this stuff done. And I am sure I will be working a bunch while I am "off"...

My oldest graduates Pre-K tomorrow. Yes, they have a graduation with caps and gowns, lol. Pretty sure she was awarded "best magnatile" builder in the class.

I’m reading it but just barely. We found a new place in town that has serve yourself beer and wine. Counted 70 taps with everything from local breweries to across the country and has a large multi-tiered patio with comfy chairs, fire pits, games, etc. The taps measure by the ounce and you just pay when you leave. Don’t remember how many I tried. Don’t remember much actually.

I didn't realize you are self-employed.

Will you PM me exactly what services you provide that lawyers and others hire you for? I know you do some black box analysis. Do you do phone and computer retrieval, hard drive recovery, META Data Analysis and the like?

I'd love to get some of my peers to send you some business, if possible (all of our personal political opinions aside. LOL!!!)!

Nothing but rest all day today again. Feels good. All I have to do is pick up some groceries and drop my niece off at work at 4pm.

Have had too many appointments and too much to do, including five or six 450mile overnight trips to Miami, over the last several weeks. Going down to Miami again Monday night. Ugh!

Looking forward to laying about for another 4+ hours.

Zody adjusted settings on my computer online. He cleaned-up and improved my laptop's speed big-time I can't thank him enough!

Hope everyone has a nice day...

The overdoing has caught up to me.

Could have simply slagged off this morning, or walked the dog and call it a morning. Nope. Walked the dog, then put my arse and sore back on the bicycle for 9 miles.

Can smell cooking back bacon behind me. Low and slow isn't getting it done, so I'm searing my back.

In case you didn't know it already- I am a ................... moron.

I'll pass on the salmon. It tastes like fish. I don't like fish... other than if I'm fishing... then fish are cool. I just don't like eating fish because it tastes like fish and stuff. If I caught a fish or bought a fish that didn't taste like fish then maybe I'd eat it. I have yet to find any fish that didn't taste like fish so I'd rather not eat it.

Now, if cows, pigs, chicken etc... lived in the water and I caught one... I'd probably eat it. As long as it didn't taste like fish.

Lobster, crab, shell fish and stuff (although not fish) still taste like fish and/or seafood so I don't eat those either.

Swedish fish... I eat those since they taste like candy and not fish so Swedish fish are OK in my book. If they made Swedish lobster or mussels, I'd probably eat those too.

On a side note: Watermelon prices are down from about $10 each to about $7 each over the past couple weeks. I love me some watermelon so I bought one. In the dead of summer they are about $4 each.

Also, in case you care... town wide yard sale is happening tomorrow. Starts at 8 AM until ?

Jonsie could probably find some deals and steals.

Right now, watermelon prices are too high to even consider buying. Last time I looked, they were $1.19 / lb. At best they’ll go down to $0.79 / lb. for the 4th of July holiday.

Being from Rhode Island... if it comes out of the ocean, I'll probably eat it... and like it. Lawbstah, crab, clams, quahogs, fish, squid... yes, please.

Mmmmm... clams.
