Big day of Firsts
-1st time I ever held cocaine. The white stuff rich white folks snort.
-1st exposure to meth.
-1st whiff of Fentanyl.
-1st time rapidly approached by a police dog.

Interesting to say the very least.

Did a ride along with a deputy and their K9. The baseline of their job is Stress at the start of the shift and varies throughout the day, but never non-stressed. They all must have ulcers. The dep I rode with has been doing this for 17 years.

It all gets real from the drop. Had to sign off on a document relinquishing all liability of the county if I was injured or died.

Then the dep ran down the list of If something happens to me…
-This is the radio.
-This is where I keep my Narcan.
-This is where my tourniquet is.
-This is how to get my taser and pistol off my belt.
-Here is how to release the shotgun.

Nothing is going to happen, if it does, you are prepared.

The dog’s tracking ability of people was good. Ability to find drugs was off the charts.

You went in 3.5 months before my wife was born. Am guessing you spent some time cruising around the South China Sea.

Glad you got to go for a ride-along, 8. It's a whole other perspective, huh?

Today was the last day of kindergarden for my oldest. Dang, I just dropped her off on her first day... SLOW DOWN!!!

No 8track unlike MACS who sailed the Ocean Blue, I went to Store Keeper (SK) in Newport Rhode Island, upon completion of training was stationed at the US Naval Submarine Base, New London/Groton Connecticut on Submarine Staff for 2years.
Then drove across the bridge and reported to the USS Fulton a Submarine tender for duty. Unlike Mackie my total time at sea was a whopping 14 days. This was a trip to Puerto Rico for Operation Springboard. Very enjoyable time here, with many nights spent at the Lucky Seven Club, paying for entertainment with the lovely ladies that seem to always be hanging around the bar & wanted to talk and mmmmmmm( you know what I mean($10&$5) Shame on you
Was discharged January 1970 has the Navy had an early out program in affect at this time. Applause

Should be noted while I was stationed at the base & the Fulton, I started working parttime for Sunset Custodial Services as a janitor and was paid the whopping rate of $1.65 per hour. I still have a copy of my first paycheck stub. A company (Atlantic Maintenance out of NJ ) took over the contract and I started working for them and eventually became the account manger.
Making more $$$ in one month that I made in the Navy. After the service I continued working with Atlantic Maintenace for a number of years. During which I purchased by 69 Ford Torino with the 4 on the floor great car.

So that sums it.ram27bat

Had a dog handler explain it to me like this:

In this bag is a big mac. You smell a cheeseburger, the dog smells 2 all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onion, bread, and sesame seeds.

Their noses only get beaten out by a bear's nose. But try training a bear to sniff out drugs.

Well, I finally had AAA take the Vette into the shpo where they had a lift. The antifreeze leak turned out to be a pinched heater hose between the a/c bracket and the upper control arm. $270 including new antifreeze and I'm back in business.

Not to much damage $ wise. Been a AAA member since 16 when I started driving.

My experience with AAA is they promise someone's on the way but then leave you waiting for 6-8 hours until they admit nobody's coming and you're on your own.

Do not worry about that. You cannot control it.

Just make certain to spend quality time with your kids every single day no matter what and enrich them to the greatest extent possible- as much as possible- and you should not have any regret. YMMV.
47. Author: delta1Date: Fri, 5/26/2023, 7:37PM EST
does "enrich" include getting a pony?

May 26, 1966...I was finishing up 7th grade...and I can't think of a single significant event for me on that date in all my years...pretty sure I got laid on the date at least once or twice, but I don't remember...

Worked with a person who’s spouse works as a deputy K9 handler. 17 years in law enforcement. Has been partnered with the dog for about 2 years.

Did it for funzies.

My stepbrothers and one of my brothers got to play kidnappers on a SWAT training drill once.. Talk about intense.. we actually got away thru a crawlspace in the floor and out the side of the house.. they were pissed... Dad said we were pretty good bad guys... Mellow

That would be fun, if it would end right. One officer said on their first taser use in the wild, one prong went into a guys chest. The other caught him in the … stick.
