We've all seen the fuss over a big ash on a cigar.
I realize that only a well constructed cigar will form such a phenom, but I've got a question for you folks.
Since the burn of a cigar relies on air, is it proper to allow the ash to form over an inch or so? Would that not restrict the air flow somewhat, causing the cigar to burn at a different temperature, creatiing a potential flavor difference vs a cigar with a properly flicked ash?

I notice no difference. Smokes as well with a big ash as no ash. I am getting better at keeping it off me though...

I've noticed a difference in taste. Cheaper sticks taste better with ash than without, probably because it keeps it cooler. Never noticed the diff with a premo stick, though. Ash on.. Ash off
