"When Punch Rare Corojo was introduced in a limited edition some years ago, the taste and aroma of the cigars was so exceptional, all of them were sold very quickly. Then, in the year 2001, Villazon cigar master Frank Llaneza began producing in small quantities, a new square-pressed version of the cigar that is even more robust than the original.

Punch Rare Corojo cigars are made with extra rich, dark Sumatra wrapper leaves that are grown in the mountains of Ecuador. The filler is a rich blend of Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos.

If you want a Punch cigar with an extra kick to it, Punch Rare Corojo, in the distinctive red box, is the one for you."

I had a bunch of those...they were ok, but they weren't all that and a bag of chips. A CAO Annie, Padron '64 or a Bucanero Full Sail are much tastier smokes

DMV- Are you comparing the older Rare Corojo or the 2001 versions to the Padron 1964, CAO Annies, etc? The reason I'm asking is that there is no price comparision either between the 2001 version and those listed. I love the Punch Rare Corojo and 1964's (apples and oranges). Cheers

Had my first one after a long time due to burn problems and them being just plain harsh.

No improvement on the burn but the flavor was ok.

The 2001's are what I was talking about. If I'm going to smoke a "stronger" or more "flavorful" cigar the Punch Corojo isn't one that I'd grab for. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't worth the hub-bub. I ranked it right there with the Montecristo V series...yawn!

Dem's me tastebuds.

The regular Punch's are some of my favorite cigars but the RC's just don't melt my butter.

I am a rookie so take it for what it is worth. I love the Del Mundo's, When I had a punch RC and really enjoyed it. It took to the outer ozone so it is on the favorite list. These were bought this year so not a 2001. ROb

I had a robusto last month and enjoyed it. Shares a lot of qualities with the HdM Roth, maybe just a tad more oomph. JMO.
