I just posted a picture of the band from a cigar and would like any information you folks might supply.

I'm definitely not an expert in the area, but I believe that the band you are showing is just a reproduction of the "tobacco stamp" or certificate of authenticity that the cigar is made in Honduras. I have seen this type of nomenclature on cigars or bundles of cigars that were generic "authentic, made in Honduras" cigars. My experience is that as with all "no brand name" cigars it is a crap shoot. Some are better than others. Some are awful.

I am no expert in this area either, but I think arwings is right. Translation - "sello de garantia de procedencia para tabacos torcidos" means "guaranteed seal of origin for blended tobaccos". (Basically - Made in Honduras) I can't make out the smaller print....

How did it smoke??

I am guessing it is a house blend from some shop.
Goes under the match in 10, 9, 8.....

I am back and not choking or green. Actually was a good stick. I guess if the fellow that gave me the smoke ever calls back I will find out.

I won a bundle on C-bid with the same certificate. It's on glossy paper and looks like a photo copy. I thought these were supposed to be paper like money paper and were issued by the government. Definately made me wonder. Anyway the smokes were seconds from a reputable manufacturer. they taste good yet are a bit dry (not by way of humidity). think time in the humi will cure this?
