Well ... I had my first Fittipaldi Trophy this morning.
At first ... I was really worried about it. It was shipped on May 22, but I didn't receive my package until Jun 2 ...
The reason I was a bit concerned, is that there was a train derailment in Chicago on May 25, and it didn't continue on it's journey to my place without a couple of unscheduled stops ... yep ... had to take a detour through ALBUQUERQUE, and NM PHOENIX, AZ ... and dind't leave there until the 29th!
Well ... they weren't as dry as I thought they would be (although they were pretty hot), but I gave them a few days of rest in my 'high humidity' humidor, and they turned out just fine!
Anyway ... I was extremely pleased with it. A very well constructed, and noticeably complex flavored medium-bodied cigar. The combination of the two different wrappers gave it a flavor profile that changed with each puff ... and it is hard to describe.
This one will definately make it into my regular rotation ... and a must try recommendation for those who haven't enjoyed one, to give it shot!
I was impressed!
The other cigar that came with it, was one of those bundles of Don Douglas Tambor Blowout's (remember those?) ... and I thought I was bidding on, and won, the Maduro Belicoso. As it turned out ... I bid on and won the Natural Belicoso, and I was a bit disappointed.
... that is, until I smoked one!
Geeze ... what a great tasting, very smooth, mild to medium-bodied cigar that turned out to be. I was overjoyed with it (I had only tried the Maduro previously, and really like it ... but they are sold out of those) ... and had another a few hours later, it was so good.
Heck ... I won the bundle for $10 ($22.95 at CI) ... and right now, I can't think of a better 'bang for the buck' than this great deal turned out to be ... wish I had bid on two or three bundles!
