3 pieces of 10' conduit, 1/2", 3/4", and 1"
cut each piece into a 4' and a 6' piece (only i cut.) pipe cutter or hacksaw.
drill through each piece of conduit at one end only, about 1/2" down, large enough to pass some string through. heavy duty waxed string, the kind the telephone men use, will last the longest.
my top round for hanging the conduit is 14" and the clapper that hits the conduit is 9". size is not
important as long as the clapper is about 1/2" away from all the conduits.
i used three hook eyes facing up and hooked three equal size chains held ogether with a key ring.
length of chain not important but the shorter the better so the chimes don't hit the ground.
i used 6, #8 eye hooks facing down. equally spaced around the top and about 1/2" in from the
edge.
i used 1 eye hook dead center facing down to hang the clapper from.
important when hanging the conduit with string about an inch from the top, have the same
diameter opposite each other and stagger the sizes for balance. 6' 1", 4' 1/2/", 6' 3/4". 4' 1", 6' 1/2,
and 4' 3/4" "
drill a hole dead cenhter in the clapper. hang it from the center eye hook so that it is about 6"
above the bottom of the 4' conduit and tie the string after it pases through the hole with a washer.
cut a piece of thin 1/4" ply or plastic about 3" by 5" and hang it from the washer as long as it is
below the 6' conduit.
when the wind blows, you will hear resonating church bells.
