Shhh... Dont say anything, Cigarbid is making good money off of these people. 🙂 As for me I definately do my research for what I am buying, especially when they even put the MSRP right there on the same page, $31.25 would be a cut-off point don't you think... Well atleast it's funny to watch.

overbidding = paying too much for cigars.

too much = more then you can afford at that moment of impulse.

therefore, overbidding means paying too much for cigars
at that moment of impulse.

it follows then, that if your credit card clears, you have not overbid.

Ummmmmm....one of those idiots was me. It was my first bid, I misunderstood something on the rules on autobid and...uh oh!! I know the price on cigars (been smoking 17 years) and would never have done this. When the price climbed into the stratosphere the next day (nice to see someone dumber than me) I called customer service to explain what happened. I spoke with Steve - a fine gentleman. I was fully prepared to "eat" my mistake, since the rules clearly say a bid is final and cannot be withdrawn. I talked to Steve, and let's just say we came to a "business arrangement" which was suitable to both CBid and myself. Thank you Steve - I am a happy customer, and I just got my first delivery today. Looking forward to bidding here again and again and again.....

One thing I did notice (after only being here a short time): people in the high tobacco tax states (NY,NJ,CT,CA,GA and others) are willing to bid a lot higher than anyone else, it seems. So, what seems high to us in the no tax states may not be so to them, but you have to wonder if they are researching prices.

Aaahh...another class act example of C-bid customer service.

Thanks for the welcome, Mr. Mean, and yes, Penguin, it was a class act by Steve. Like I said, I was prepared to eat this one, and try to make it up on some low bids. Maybe it was because I was crying, but Steve took pity on me. He did mumble something about signing over parental rights on my first born male child, and he kept asking for my girlfriend's phone number and what she looked like. What's up with that? 😉

I noticed a very similar occurance in the CAO Flavours Sampler. It's available on the mother site for $19.95 but sells regularly for over $22.00 on CBid. People just don't seem to check other inet resources before getting into a feeding frenzy. 🙂
