I know that dogs are the "buddies of choice" around here...but this is my herfin' buddy. Spike lays on the Sunday paper and enjoys a smoke with me every week.

I have three!

I love cats too. I order it from the local chineese take-out, he calls Mongoloian Beef, but I know better. There isn't a single cat hair to be found within a 5 mile radius of his place.

Before (one of my then three cats) Crickett had to be 'put down' ... she use to really enjoy it when I smoked a cigar.

She would go nuts ... and whenever I lit up a cigar, she would come running ... and purr, meow, and crawl all over me ... trying to get her face in the smoke.

I think she enjoyed the smell (and taste?) of the cigar smoke as much as I do ...

... unfortunately, she ended up getting cancer ... and it still sits in the back of my mind, that I may have contributed to her condition. We don't know for sure, of course ... but it still bothers me a little, and sure makes me wonder ...

Release the guilt my friend.

You gave that cat a wonderful home to thrive in. That is unless you were running one of those pet labortories that PETA wants to curse...anyone see 28 Days Later...

Let it go, and don't spoil the good memories.
