The last few Dominican cigars I have purchased, have been extremely dry and brittle [for lack of a better word] and I have noticed there are certain ones that are also kind of dry. Is it how they are kept at the store or seller's?
Also, I have noticed that the "dry" ones are usually fairly tasteless. The ones I have found that are some what "soft" [I hear the snickering] are usually pretty good.

And why are some cigars so tightly packed that it would take a vacuum cleaner to get a good puff?

Ok, I know.... Stupid questions, but I am clueless and finally found someplace that could give me some answers that I have been muddling over for some time. 🙂

I don't really know the answers to your questions off the top of my head, but I did just do a search using the key words "Dry Cigar" and several responses came up in regards to that. Didn't really try the other questions, but I'm sure if you try searching a few of the words/terms in All Messages you can come up with some fantastic answers.

Or you can just wait for some kind veteran of the boards to answer your question. But I thought I'd throw that idea out, as it took me awhile to realize it was there, but then again I'm a little slow sometimes.

I just started using CigarBid and had my first shipment come in last week - the batches were extremely dried out - pretty unsmokeable and I have to revive these cigars - is this standard for this auction board...Let me know??

I don't know what cigars tou got,but my own personal experiance with cbid/ci has been a very good one my cigars come in just fine,not dry.You can call cust.service and see what they have to say.

I've had just the opposite problem. When I first get my cigars (generally from Cbid but other places also), they are usually too moist. Typically I will put them in my humidor for 2-3 months before I smoke one (sometimes I just can't help myself and have to smoke one immediately), and this usually levels the RH out. I still believe they are shipped with a too high RH to take into account the shipping time, conditions, etc. Of course, I like a cigar more at 62-63 RH as opposed to 70+ RH (I believe it improves the draw without affecting the taste, but that's a personal preference), and this usually works for me. Maybe you aren't giving them enough aging time (more important for some brands than it is for othrs) before you smoke them. Just my thoughts............

I've bought at least 100 times or more from CBid. I've NEVER had dry cigars, yet... :>)

Yep what Mag said. And If I did The cust service reps will take care of the matter ASAP. Trust me I have had to use them for a few things. No better service around. And I mean ANYWHERE!!

Always good results with Cigarbid. Smokes show up in pristine condition. Maybe it was just the brand you picked.

I've never received dry cigars from Cbid. They are tops in customer service, so work with them and be nice.

I agree...I've never had a dry cigar. But everything I buy gets some significant humidor time to balance out. I've had some dry ones from other people's humidors, but not from Cbid.

Next time it happens, tell customer service and you will get replacements right away.
