"Personal Sundries" does work. Or "Book of the Month" Or "Gift Items" It doesn't realy get checked. You could probably write "1 Kilo of Cocaine" and nobody would blink twice.

Although there is nothing wrong with sending cigars, I think the theory is that somewhere in transit they may just vanish if labeled as cigars. I've used "Personal Sundries" and had no problems so far. My post office hasn't even asked me for a customs form if under 1 lb.

I'm going to try "Tacky Souvenirs from Florida" and see if it gets through.

I usually do what Smithbw does, "Collectibles".

Our local PO requires a customs declaration form, Tobacco products or Cigars is fine.

We have sent our son sever care packages this way.

May I suggest double sip lock bags with either a damp paper or a wet piece of florists foam inside the outer bag. A sturdy outer box and or double boxing is also a good idea, they are handled a lot.

I've sent lots to my son in the Navy. Have to file a customs form and write cigars on it with no problem. But I can see how they might disappear.

My experience is NEVER say CIGARS on the box or forms...

If it goes to the field, it may very well end up confiscated. From what I was told, it is against US armed forces policy to send tobacco to the US armed forces using an APO address. [Please let me know if you know this to be incorrect.]

Also, depending on the location, especially remote locations, the temptation is great for the boxes to go "missing". (no insult intended to anyone)

Notice restriction C. Now look up the specific APO and see if is allowed. In many cases it is restricted but not all.

Restriction B is for customs forms for packages greater than one pound.

I posted this on the Misc board -My Lady at the PO TWICE has told me I am not supposed to send ciagrs (Clud B-Day Bombs) but then she takes the package anyway??!! Ok so I write sundries ont his package to the brothers and sisters over sea's got it 🙂
