I live in sunny Tucson Az. Where the tepature stays well above 90 from now until september. I am a relatively new smoker and am wondering about the effects of the temp on my smokes. If I was to keep the humidity at between 68% and 72% in my dor would the higher temps still be a major concern? It is constantly above 80 in my house all summer and sometimes can get close to 90. If this is a problem for storing gars please any advise on what to do to help remedy the situation would be taken kindly. (please do not sugest moving and or an A.C. I am working on both those solutions).

Try keeping them in a cooler(s) with some of those refreezable ice packs? You would have to switch them out with a fresh frozen one maybe dayly.

if you have a basement of cellar, keep the cigars in there, otherwise keep them in a closet.

Don't put your humidor in direct sunlight for this heat up the box and increase temp. Basement or lowest part of closet in coolest part of house like Aberdeen suggested.

emind56,How many cigars are we talking about.I am currently working on a Fridgeador.Yeah no sh*t it works. You can get a temp control from a brewers supply,it will alow your fridge to keep a temp. of 70 deg.instead of the usual 40 or whatever. Then all you need is an old fridge.Whatever size you need for your cigars and there you go.The humidity swings down a little when the unit cycles but seems to recover quickly and if you have your cigars in boxes or humidors. The humidity outside the box's dosen't really matter if it fluctuates a little. Here's a link to the temp control.I'll post some more later.

You can also use an inexpensive wine keeper (available at Sam's Club, etc.) for ~ $250. The temp can be set at 68 and it should hold at least 20 boxes and your humidification units.
