After reading Electromeo's post, I thought of sharing this bit of info with all you cigar newbies out there.

When I first started breaking into the cigar world, I read this book and it reeeeeeeeally helped me out and gave me tons of helpful info in an easy guide. Once you read it, you'll know just about everything there is to know about cigars.

The book is...

The Complete Idiots Guide to Cigars
by Tad Gage

It's a part of the "Complete Idiot's Guide" series of books, and can tell you just about anything you need or want to know about cigars and even some info on cigarillos and pipes (plus a few helpful chapters about Cubans). It was written during the Cigar Boom of the mid-90's, so some of the stuff is outdated, but overall it is extremely helpful and reliable.

I found it at my local Barnes and Noble, in the same section as all the wine books, so go check it out!

Unfortunately, the Complete Idiot's Guide to Cigars doesn't have a chapter on how to avoid Slim slappings, lol.

you posted something under the trade boards when you indeed did not offer anything to trade. So your mistaken old one.

I think the juxtaposition of you 2 boys there in school and the title, "The Complete Idiot's Guide..." to be one of the funniest things I've read on these boards in a long time......you can't make this stuff up......

Also, before taking a shot, even a very mild one (and I'm sure it was said jokingly) at Slim, how about spending the time in learning that
"YOUR" is not the contraction for "YOU ARE" ... making the final phrase "your mistaken" to be another faux pas.

First off the book is good reading material for people who want to learn. And secondly, now I know why old people bitch at how the young ones never treat them with respect. They don't deserve it.

You're spot on with the "Idiots Guide" great way to learn a little about your sticks. I was enjoying a Torano belicoso this morning with my coffee and for some reason went and got the book out and started reading it again....weird huh?
